Yeah and this.
If rettig redshirts, that's just like taking a QB in this class, except they will already have had the playbook for a year.
I do think Harris signs with LSU.

Right now, I would settle for 1 good QB in 2014 season...2013 for that matter. But obviously you want 2 decent QBs if you can get them. So no one is rooting for Rettig and Jennings more than I am because I have 0 confidence in Rivers ever becoming close to a division 1-A starter. I thought he was a "family tree reach" when he was signed and nothing he has done in spring games or in practice reports by LSU beat writers, etc has changed that opinion.
I don't know who is on the board at the QB position for the 2015 class but this particular position wasn't one in strength for the 2014 class.

What happened to make people think that Harris is no longer an LSU lean? Did someone hear something or did Gus offer his half cousin a spot in the cheer leading squad? WTF peeps

sonny and shea are predicting Harris to LSU but the vibe isn't one of a lot of confidence. I get the sense they don't really know and are just going with their gut. Not faulting them, cuz I don't think anyone knows and I don't think there is anyway to know.

I actually do also. You know what makes me really suspicious is when information is soooo easily obtained...like a relative supposedly saying something or knowing something and releasing it days before the announcement. I am NOT criticizing the people who relay the info, but let's put in the same category as "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

Everyone calm down. I can see QB being impressed with Malzahn. All he has to do is mention Newton and his offense at Auburn and Arkansas.
Compare that to LSU the last couple of years.
But give our Cameron to show off his offense and work these kids on the recuriting trial and see how manny will be beating down the door. Where else can you go to get better tutored for the NFL. No one has his credentials at that level in college.
This may be good if Harris goes to Auburn and he losses a WR. He will realize he has to change his style. But I personally think he already has decided that.
We'll see in a few weeks. If he did, Harris et al will come back asking for a chance to come to LSU.

He's played the game from day 1 and him coming on radio n br and gushing about lsu and portraying himself as a lock would go against everything he's done at this point.

He's not a must-get because our immediate depth is good. But the fact that we have Jennings and Rettig is the reason why BH is the perfect QB for this class. Harris has all of the physical tools but isn't as game-ready right now as other 2014 qbs. Give him two years to polish his intermediate accuracy and learn a pro-style offense and he would be an absolute stud afterwards.

Harris reads all these message boards to see what people are saying about him and he is enjoying the fact that people are talking about and keeping people guessing. I want him to come to LSU but all this stuff is annoying. If he picks auburn so be it. We'll find another good one and already have a couple good ones on campus. We can take the sean white kid instead of auburn. He's a stud and throws an awesome ball.
