Great ? and the results seem to be mixed. Everyone praises the guy to high heaven but I'm still waiting for all the offensive commits at the skill positions. Wish those prospects who have praised him so much would actually commit.
Good info, sir and what you claimed makes 100% sense! Shorter is by far the best available option for LSU for the other back (assuming LSU signs him). IF LF went elsewhere, Shorter becomes even more important. This is flat out bizarre that a running team like LSU signs 0 RBs the last 2 years and hasn't even offered a scholarship to a 2nd back that they actually have a chance of signing.
BTW, an interesting note. On one of the chats with James Smith, a guy (nnnnnnooooo, NOT me) and James disagreed big time. James Smith really liked D Williams, and the other guy said what the hell are you seeing that I'm not. Anyway, that was pretty confrontational for a NOLA chat but Smith apparently likes the guy more than most of the fans do because I hear no one asking about signing the guy.
I assume he had a cast on his left ankle correct?

Hey, he still has those supposed offers from Florida and Georgia? :rotflmao:
I agree with both yawns and someone mentioned D Williams offers from Florida and Georgia. IF they are committable, that is about all he had of note. Arizona State was there but the other offers, not big time IMO. And once again, are the FL and GA offers committable...I'm guessing no, they are not!
Yeah, and look at 3 things:]
1) Where they are ranked by the services
2) Their rather skimpy list of offers
3) Neither has an offer from LSU

IMO, Shorter is the class of the field of potential LSU signees at RB NOT named Leonard Fournette. To not push for the guy or accept his commit is downright :wtf:
Not just me...several on here said they should have taken Taylor or SOMEONE last year at RB. I can't remember a major college program that runs a decent amount to have passed on RBs 2 years in a row. And once again, yes I've heard of Leonard Fournette. Everyone is talking about taking 2 RBs this year on every comment I've seen anywhere who is the 2nd RB even if Founette commits. Most of the RBs are already off the board committed to other teams.
who isn't but 1 RB in 3 years is a little bit under the fishing limit I believe. What happens if God forbid an injury occurs? And shifting someone to RB who hasn't played it or may not physically be able to hold up or take the punishment is pretty stupid IMO. Shorter IMO is better than Williams from what I've seen. Of course, LSU doesn't seem to offer any RBs ever but guys they have no chance for like Hurd (other than Fournette of course).
Yeah, I forgot to mention that but this is beginning to sound a little like the Taylor deal from last year but Shorter IMO is better than Taylor was. IMO, LSU is playing a little too hard to get on RBs and quite frankly it is pissing me off! 2012 - 0 RBs signed 2013 - 0 RBs signed 2014 - 0 RBs committed and yes I have heard of Leonard Fournette.

To the LSU coaching staff, please get off your arses and get ANOTHER RB committed. Geez, it isn't rocket science...it really isn't. They should have accepted Shorter's commit before if they turned it down! :spank: :spank: :spank:
Correct, that is supposed to be who he is down to but he was reported to be at the LSU camp. To me, that pretty much shuffles those "favorites" up quite a bit IF LSU pushes for the guy. IF LSU pushes for him, my guess is they get him. LSU has been on the guy quite a while and his offers are flat out great!
Agree with you, sir! Even his own statements were pretty inconsistent, much less whether he was accurate in some others. ThreauxDown, I really think it came down to he thought that his teammate R Shaw would be offered at LSU like he was. Louisville offered the DE and I believe he has committed, so yeah, it was the classic package deal thing it appears.

I would have offered Rhaheed but on a scale of caring especially at that particular position with this particular player, I rate it a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Sean White was visiting and came and left without an offer. But the GIVEN is that if Harris selects LSU, 5 seconds later White's cellphone will ring and Malzahn will be on the line.
For some reason, Shorter has fallen off the radar a bit, although apparently he was at the camp yesterday and everyone that I've seen says he already have an LSU offer. His highlights look great to me with plenty of speed, that "run to daylight" attribute, shifty, intelligent on when to cutback, great balance, somehow escapes when he is surrounded or pinned in, etc.

Right now, LSU isn't listed in his top 2 or so, but once again, he camped yesterday at LSU. The services like the guy better than say a Darrell Williams. Anyway of the prospects possible IMO for LSU to get for their other RB besides Fournette, give me K Shorter, and get Fournette and I would rate the LSU RB recruiting an A+.

OK, OK, I admit if LSU gets Fournette, it would be an A+ anyway! :nana:

That is the longer interview but there was the other one where he actually criticized the coaches when he decommitted and said he had been trying to get hold of them for several days and they wouldn't get back to him. Of course, even in this interview, he seemed a bit pissed they delayed taking his commitment and also he was thinking they would offer the R Shaw guy.
Yeah, they are perfect. Oh, and funny you bring up coaches expertise. I assume you MEAN ALL coaches at major schools right? So, in other words, the fact that ONLY LSU, Air Force, S Miss, and Memphis have offered Ramirez would say that only those coaches know squat right? I trust LSU coaches to a LARGE degree and do a great job of talent evaluation but these guys signed with LSU and did squat (just in the last very few years).

J Wright, J Johns, J Fobbs, S Gibson, A Williams, etc.

Also, from the evaluation by 24/7 that is posted on another thread, it mentioned Ramirez did well except against Noil and Dupre, etc. Uh, one little problem, doing well against a lot of guys at the camp ain't going to cut it. Why? Because of lot of those guys are NOT going to get offers to play anywhere above ULL or Toolame.
Mine would be, and I'm not going to gap the difference although not a bad idea:

Dupre
Noil
Blacknall
Upchurch
Quinn
D Williams (1 year availability is HUGE!)

LSU isn't offering Sims due to numbers, and he seems to be falling a bit in the services rankings, so I'll take the coaches and the services ranking on him.

For 1 year only and the his personal situation with the threat of violence against him or members of his family? Probably better/safer for HIM and LSU that he goes elsewhere. To be honest, it would be best if he was qualified for the NFL in years out of HS. My guess is he would declare for the NFL draft if he was able.
He's in there now...I simply forgot to type him in. Your observation was correct! I did take out D Williams because I don't want LSU to sign 6 WRers even if Upchurch may not end up there as a TR WR...because he will be catching the ball from some position on offense.
Personally, I like Dupre the best. He beat Tony Brown at that camp a while back on a couple of passes. He just looks and has the physical attributes of a WR and seems to have great hands. Noil I like with the ball but the highlights I've seen he is running with the ball from the QB position or throwing short passes. I guess I need to find some footage where he might be a WR instead of a QB. Williams is the one I care the least about, NOT because of ability but because he is a 1 and done guy. I would much rather take a lesser talent and have him for 3 or 4 years than a better guy who you know is short lived in the program.

I hope LSU signs Dupre, Noil, Blacknall, Upchurch, and Quinn.

“I attended the Houston camp, and the Junior Day. It was very exciting, a great atmosphere and it was a pretty exciting time.”

Obviously, he would know more than anyone if he attended camps. I made the mistake of trusting Scouts.com list where the only camp they had checked was LSU. To be fair, Houston wasn't even on his interest list so maybe that prevented the "check mark" from being posted.

I brought up Claiborne myself as a HOPEFUL comparison in recruiting. The difference is when Claiborne finally got video out there, I SAW what the coaches saw. Fair Park was a NOTHING football school...missed the playoffs 15 straight years. He played QB and literally carried that team into the playoffs playing QB. Ramirez doesn't strike me the same way that Claiborne does. I trust the coaches to a large degree but I don't think we want to start listing the obscure players they have missed on. A lot more obscure ones they have missed on that they have hit on. They hit on Claiborne...they hit on Mathieu...missed on many more than that.
