Yeah. O hired Bill Johnson last summer after meatball tore up both his knees playing basketball and wasn't going to be able to be an on field coach.

They’re letting the dust settle on the NFL and college season before they narrow down their OC/DC list. There are 2 very familiar names for DC in the Mix though, not able to share their names yet since they are currently not “available”

Oh God don't tell me its another old guy from the NFL who hasn't coached college for 20 years.

Is monte kiffin still alive? Hes got a relationship with o I'm pretty sure. We could always get the coaches box fitted with oxygen for him.

It should be obvious by now that o prefers older more mature coaches. Every on the field coach hes hired under 50 ,has been here for just 1 season.

Here’s the comment from another user when I asked:

Played at LSU in the early 90s. Was a fantastic recruiter for nick Saban until he got a two year show cause for impermissible contact with a recruit. I don’t remember exactly what Davis did that broke the rules but I do remember that it wasn’t that big of a deal. What really got him the show cause was he lied about what happened when the NCAA started asking questions. List of his best recruits:

Raesjon not going to USC. He will be a Tiger if LSU makes a good DC hire. They do not like Clay Helton and the culture he’s built there. His Dad in particular is super pro LSU and Ed O.

It's driving me crazy. Who are two familiar names? Does mean they were on staff or LSU played against them?

SDE or OLB? I know pretty much both are the same depending how used.

No this is the position that Korey Forman would have come into play. Man I hope there’s just some chance we still get that young man. I know it’s far fetched but you just never know. These are the guys that I’ve been wanting LSU to recruit, even in the 3/4. A guy like Smith, Foreman, Langston, Roy and Guillory would have been a brutal 3/4 DL. These types of DL recruits make you so versatile. All can stop the run and rush the passer. These guys are the ones that free up that OLB or WDE or SS or FS or CB to blitz and get in there quickly.

These are the guys that make DBU look virtually impossible to pass on. With another year in Pelini’s system, all these guys will flourish. Eli Ricks is also the perfect type of corner to have in this system. Mixing man/zone within the same defensive call. Wait until Sage Ryan is the QB of that defense and knows in front to back. Getting everyone lined up and knowing their role in that package.

Y’all going to see how dumb it was to say Pelini is the problem. That man knows defense. But when you’re handicapped to deploy your weapons then of course the defense will look basic and easy to attack. On top of that, these kids are young as hell and don’t know crap about the scheme. We’ll have a much improved team next year BUT it still won’t be what it will in their 3rd year. That’s when you’re going to see 2011 type defense. I really believe that. I think we’ll be top 5 in the SEC in sacks and TOs next year and top 2 in both the next.

We HAVE to keep stacking up this DL and we HAVE to start landing big time OLman! Period!

He’s a 5 star talent with academic inconsistencies and lack of camps. He was ranked like top 10 overall in 2018.
