Is he good? Only watched them hang close with bama until the last 5 mins when bama scored 21. Before that was ball game and close.

Explayer said that few weeks back. Forgot about Perkins. We did play better without him on field. Sad but true.

But not the second half against A&M and against Bama where Perkins might have been difference maker.

Uh, why wasn't Perkins the difference maker in the 2023 game vs Alabama then. He played in that game and Milroe had similar numbers rushing compared to the 2024 game where he didn't play. Perkins hasn't been a + difference maker since really the 2022 Arkansas game.

It was an overall worse defense with a different HC and different schemes. I only said Perkins might have made a difference, not that he definitely would have. It still depends on scheme and execution by others on the team. They didn’t have the speed to contain Reed or Milroe. Perkins might have been what they needed specifically in those matchups.

Perkins would also have had to improve his tackling. As I stated in a post on another thread about him, in 2023, he led the team in missed tackles in at least the Ole Miss and Alabama games...probably more I don't know about. I will be the first to say that the only way you miss tackles is to be near the ball carrier to begin with...but still... Harold Perkins has never been a great tackler. Whit Weeks is a great tackler having made 17 tackles each in 2 of the last 5 games in 2024.

Yes, and that was the problem against A&M and Alabama. No one was getting near Reed or Milroe. Maybe Perkins would have missed tackles and not helped, but he certainly wouldn’t have hurt.

You can add Sellars in the mix of Reed and Milroe. The only reason LSU stopped Sellars for SC in the 2nd half is he didn't play due to being injured.

Because Matt house refused to use him as a spy on Milroe
