*We're not in the market of buying players and unfortunately right now, that's what some guys are looking for. They want to be bought. *If you're just looking to get paid, you're looking in the wrong direction
*If you just want to get paid, this is not the place for you“

In other words, we need more money

No, exactly opposite of that. Basically said we can give you money and prepare you for the next step (NFL), but we aren’t going to just make you rich for the hell of it because you want way over your “market” value.

I’d rather spend money on elite coaches than maybe a good player for 1 season

Hmmm….we are buying players with NIL, but I think he’s saying that he’s being selective, cause I can only imaging what Underwood’s NIL offer was..

I like it. I don’t want to see the CFB I love die because schools just want to win at all costs.

Ask yourselves what our record would have been the last two years without transfers

What does this have to do with anything that he said?
Did we pay Daniels 1.5 million to transfer without playing a down at LSU?
Did we give Mekhi wingo 1 million to transfer?

The frustrating part is he almost acts like he was totally caught off guard that these kids were gonna be all about the money.
We can act like this is "part of the path" but I think he had zero anticipation of having the same DL guys after the spring portal as we did in the fall.
Oh well. He better go out there and still find a way to win.

What if you pay a player 1.5 million and that player gives little effort, your screwed.

Wrong. He's saying what I've said in here repeatedly -- he doesn't care that players are making money. The entire LSU team is. He's not going to pay for a player who only wants money. That's the difference because it divides our locker room like it did at A&M. He's absolutely right.

let's see if OSU, Bama, Ole Miss, OU, Miami, FSU, Oregon etc. have horrible seasons because their locker rooms were all in turmoil over the transfer guys and their paychecks.
You can stand on your morals with this if you want. But when the other schools you're competing for a title with are doing it, you better have a plan in place for how you're gonna close that talent gap to keep up.
And it looks like we didn't account for that at all.
