I highly doubt he left ND because of talent to come to LSU and continue to offer mid-west 3 stars. If that is his strategy, he gon learn real quick!

That being said, I think he came to LSU because he needs LSU talent and that is found in the state primarily. I'll give him a full recruiting cycle to get planted and then I'll judge our recruiting board in JUNE! In BK we trust! How soon we forget we had Les and O....

He’s assembled a staff full of proven recruiters so I don’t think they all suddenly forgot how to recruit. I think the NIL stuff is obviously a work in progress. I’m also not completely ready to write off how much a lot of these kids got a bad taste about LSU during the O era. 2024 seems to already be extremely promising.

This 2023 class he’s going to be solid particularly from an OL/DL perspective.

Just gotta be patient- won’t be much longer b4 it begins….

He needs MONEY not recruiters. Players not longer give a chit about who's recruiting them. They want to get paid.

This.

The money people need to start getting their plan together and executing. Because there's already a big enough talent gap and lack of depth on this roster at key positions. I think Brian Kelly and the coaches are absolutely busting their asses on the recruiting trail. Hell, I think they're working harder than any staff has in a long time for recruits. But what we're seeing right now is akin to us bringing a knife to a gunfight.

My Thoughts....
With NIL
Their is a lot of emphasis of buying all the 5 STAR ATHLETES... and We will get our share, but we are not going to get them all

BK seems to have a lot of Emphasis on the 3-4 Stars, Let's think of a few
5Star
Terrace

4 Star
Joe Burrow
Jamar Chase

3 Stars
Justin Jefferson
CLYDEEEE
Thadeus

Now i'm not going to go through the whole team and this and that, but this gives you the idea....
Yes 5Atars are great, but ole ISH didn't do anything at Bama!!!!!

The 3-4 stars are usually better TEAM PLAYERS (BK type of Players) But LSU will get there 5 Stars as well...
Just let it play out

One thing that has to happen is a quality product gets put on the field. Good football has to be shown for these teenagers to get really excited about what’s happening here.

That's great and all, but the Blue Chip Ratio is a real thing and if you're not getting those high end guys, you won't be able to compete at a level you want.

You won't win championships with 3/4* players. If you did then Wisconsin and ND would be a lot more competitive

Since the CFP era started in 2014 the champions have been consistent top 5/8 recruiting classes. The teams making the CFP have had too 10 classes.

That's a fact.

Everyone thinking we can be competitive with 3/4* are fooling themselves.

Kelly's avg class at ND tenure was 12th ranked. We saw how even those teams got manhandled in the playoffs and NY6 games.

Kelly’s ND teams would have been a lot more competitive with better skill players and dbs. Luckily you can go to a Walmart in Lafayette and find those here. ND being 12th is irrelevant. The trench play on Kelly’s latter ND teams was top notch. They lacked explosive play makers and cover corners. Dig into the details a little more next time.

I think you are spot on. After 2 disappointing seasons, some recruits must be somewhat leery of the state of the football program. NIL is probably also a factor and I would love to know how much money is being promised to these 5 star recruits.

All I was simply pointing out is that the national champions since the CFP era have all had consistent top 5/10 recruiting classes each year... that's a fact. Clemson might have been an outlier but I looked at their ranking it was 9.6 avg since 2014.

BK lacked speed at skill positions and most importantly
big strong fast Dlineman.Oline at ND was big smart NFL
type midwestern farmboys.

The chances of a 5* athlete becoming an impact player on your team is higher than the potential of a 3* doing the same. Alot of the 5* ranking comes from undeniable talent and genetics. That doesnt mean a 3* cant turn out to be elite nor does it mean that a 5* will always pan out.

Let's see how the offensive and defensive line class fills out this year. Other pieces are already on campus.
