1st I think for a kid to get a chance to play at any sec school is a honor and should be lucky. The only problem I have is if you can only have 3 paid coaches, then the head coach better be the pitching , hitting or recruiting coach and he is none of the 3. So since most of these guys were recruited 18,19,20 that are on the team. So if you look at Vandy,ms state, ole miss , Arkansas, and Florida and lsu . The only school that out recruited lsu was Vandy, these 5 schools are 1-5 and lsu is 21. We dont have a recruiting problem , we have a coaching problem. So how can your recruiting class be ranked 2,3,4,and 7 in the past 4 years. But ranked 21?

Ok Mrs. Mainieri.

There’s also no allegation that his current coach made a douchbag statement to the kid while recruiting him. Nevertheless, my hatred is based on an objective review of his performance. The dude sucks.

So everyone admits the Tenn coach out recruits Pawl which isn’t hard since he doesn’t recruit and the Tenn coach is bringing in all the best talent........I mean come on are you guys fricking kidding me. Am I the only one seeing the issue here????

And I acknowledged it also takes hard work and talent. But some of you people are so up your own arse about how arrogant Mainieri is you fail to think that he may have been selling the program by saying that.

My problem with the “lucky” statement, if it happened AND if was delivered with the intent as stated by OP, is that a kid standing in Paul’s office is also standing in pretty much any top D1 program coaches office he wants.... so who is the lucky one?

Project, can’t only 2 coaches go on the road for recruiting?

Two assistants for sure, I’m not sure what type of restrictions there are on the HC. But not all that many HCs go out on the road too much.

Mainieri is not the only head coach mentioned in this thread that doesn’t get out very much if at all. We know he does go out though because that’s how he met and hired Cannizzaro. Van Horn doesn’t meet guys until they show up in the fall. Mainieri is more hands on than people give him credit for.

Hope he like living in the trailer park. Glad he did not go to LSU.

Does anyone know why these kids are leaving and if they were recruited by LSU?

CPM’s reputation has caught up to him at the high school level. CPM doesn’t recruit off campus, while every other HC is very active on the recruiting trail.

This isn’t true, but go ahead and keep on with your false narrative.

If he took offense to the coach saying that, that's a him problem.

Said no one ever. You are the biggest PM apologist on the Internet. Take his prick out of your mouth. At least put a winners prick in there.

This is bullshite. I know it first hand. Dave Van Horn scouted me at a local college and his former employers camp.

Sometimes kids just want to create some distance and spread their wings. No rhyme or reason. My son grew up an LSU fan, had a scholarship to Tulane and was ready to play for the Green Wave and after a recruiting trip opted to go the small school route and accepted an offer to play for Millsaps in Mississippi. Surprised me, but I decided to stop trying to figure the decisions of 18 yr olds.

Our neighbor here in Texas pitched at LSU. He's a good polite young man. He never talks bad about anyone but told us only certain favorites like PM. He's not the man we see on the field. Hard to play for him. He went to the pros after awhile rather than staying at LSU. Players don't like him.....maybe word gets around.

Can you read fricktard? Or don’t understand the word “former”? Which is it?

I went to a camp at NSU that he personally came down and attended. You don’t have any information dipshit and you have an even smaller vocabulary
