Before Bridget Dean was suppose to be in the official release by LSU during the signing period, there was a lot of speculation of her not joining the team this coming season until next year.

I've been informed that Bridget Dean out of Orlando Metro Gymnastics is now at LSU now and is enrolled in summer classes. She is expected to compete for LSU this upcoming season!

This is major news as she was a top ten level 10 gymnast recruited by a lot of SEC programs including Alabama, Georgia and even Utah.

She is expected to make an immediate impact on flood and beam. Her bars have improved immensely over the last two years, she will be someone who can step in immediately on this event for LSU next season.

I agree, lots of eye talent on the team. Most in the SEC for sure.

Let me answer in this way. The gymnastics team is, without question, pound for pound the strongest and toughest athletes in the entire athletic program. So yeah, that's hot.

Thanks for your gymnastics and softball updates TB357. It's difficult for the average fan of the 2 sports, like myself, to find info like this. It is greatly appreciated.

The program continues to sustain itself at at the top of the hill.

How many scholarships are allotted by the NCAA in gymnastics? Are they all full scholarships or do they have varied amounts like some sports?

Until OU loses some off their roster, I'm afraid it will be another runner up finish. Or maybe they can hit in the finals instead of in the semifinals before Super Six.

Is she on scholarship? I noticed Kate transferred, so it may have opened it up. Also, do you know if we are trying to fill a spot for next year? I thought we had one open. Maybe even two if Christina decides to defer. I wonder how much of a risk that is considering she would have to defer two years, if she wants to work towards making the Olympic team for 2020.

Even if LSU had the exact performance at super six like they did at the Semi finals, we unfortunately would have still been slightly short. OU shattered the record high at super six, the one that lsu broke the day before.

If it was any other year, LSU would have won a title. Having Maggie Nichols is what changed the OU program. They have an all arounder that can put up a 9.95 on essentially every event with ease.

Nothing to be ashamed of, OU will be very difficult to beat until Maggie Nichols graduates. Unfortunately they do have Ragan Smith commited to them who would be just as deadly as Maggie in college. Although it may not pan out as she is essentially in line to be in the 2020 Olympic If she stays on track.

I don't see Christina continuing her elite career, she is ALL LSU. She is special but unfortunately will never be on the Olympic team. Simone Biles, Hernandez, Ragan Smith, and a lot of younger talents are more well rounded then Desiderio at the elite level.

Christina is known for her floor and beam. If she would need to put up high 14's on bars to be even considered for the Olympic team and that's just not going to happen. She will be on the team next year

Rumor has it that she has not competed or practiced in a long time... and she has gained a lot of weight and is completely out of shape. If so, it would be difficult for her to see the lineup this year. Any truth to this?
