Interested to hear the board's thoughts on whether they prefer Bech at TE or at WR. To me, it looks like Bech has gotten big as hell (without losing athleticism), and I'd love to use him as a "move" TE. I don't think there's a significant gap in size or athleticism between Bech and Thomas Fidone, and Fidone was considered TE all the way. The only real difference i can see is that Bech has only just recently bulked up, whereas Fidone has been big for a while. If Bech had had a chance to go to camps this summer I think he'd have wound up as a 4* and a TE.

Thoughts?

Doesnt really matter cause he will be split out anyway.

Also, you won't know till you get him on campus and see where he fits in the offense.

I just love that he fights for the ball.
You always need those players in the middle of the field, no matter what 40 they run

Correct. He’s going to destroy LBs and Safeties that try to match up

Flex TE ultimately is my guess as he's 6'2-6'3 215 already with room to grow and very willing blocker, but wherever he ends up I think he can do really well.

Guy is a Cooper Kupp clone. Think a little bit more mobile WR-ish Thad Moss. He's going to run the same type of routes. But he's already pretty dang big. If he gets more bulk, he's going to be a smaller flex TE ala Jorden Reed Trey Burton

He reminds me of what it would be like if Tebow was a WR/TE. Same energy and physicality.

He’s built and plays like Dez Bryant. Just a physical freak that runs great routes and outmuscles everyone. The knock is his top end speed but it doesn’t matter when you can high point the ball like he does.

Bryant actually was a low 4 star out high school that racked up big offers at 6’2 220lbs.

One service(Rivals courtesy of Spiegleman) does rank him as a 4* TE. 247s LA scout spends all of his time in Texas and the only real guy they seem to be evaluating instate is Manning. They're becoming eerily similar to the model they left in their wake at Rivals.
Word from Rivals is that LSU likes him more as a flex TE. No issue with the take as I think he's worthy of being one but I do wonder on space in regards to taking he and Shead. Different types I know but we are gonna need the spots presumably we are missing on hs targets with in regards to filling depth and talent on the OL and at S via the transfer market. May even need a LB that can play immediately. This end of cycle is gonna be extremely intriguing to me in terms of the space and targets both in hs and the transfer market. As important a class in terms of immediate help we've had in a long time

2 TE's in this class is appropriate if they have room.

If Carter moves on after this year then you only really have Gilbert and Taylor on the roster that can play. I don't even include Moffitt in the mix.

4 TE's on a roster is not excessive.

He was actually a near top 50 player in his class but it's a good comparison. Fun fact, we turned Bryant down at one point. We chose to battle Florida for Toliver with Benton and Williams already in.(and Byrd) Also rumors of grade issues with Bryant. That was my first real deep interest recruiting class(Joe McKnight, Benton, Chad Jones,John Williams) and I remember it well. We went head to head with some powers for kids in that class and all anyone wanted to discuss was losing McKnight to USC.

The offers are starting to pour in for Bech. Notre Dame just got in the mix. If he doesn’t choose the good guys, hopefully it’s a team out of the SEC.
