I wouldn't pay a quarter to go to this shite. They are just using you to make more money. You aren't going to learn anything there that you wouldn't know by reading the internet in the morning for 20 minutes

Seems like more of a social event, not an information session.

The laughed at the part of the bash Where they had the individual seats set up in the back (I guess for people that didn't want to pay for a full table?) that were all empty.

Food was interesting also.

Chairs set up without a table were for club members and others that were attending the Bash but who didn't have a table. In other words there was open seating available for people who didn't have reserved seats.

It was really quite simple.

Because of the internet and the rapid reporting of signings, the event has become less informative. That is obvious.

The idea is to try and put on a program that many Tiger fans would appreciate, to have vendors and other outlets come with their sports paraphernalia, and throw a big party.

The thing has become more social.

The problem with the River Center was it was so big, so hard to set up, stock, and control, expensive, and with declining attendance it became necessary to move the event.

The general admission crowd was going down every year after a couple or three huge years at the outset at the River Center.

I agree with the ones who remember 2007 thru 2010. These were great events and the River Center was busting at the seams. But after that it started to decline.

The move to the casino is the fourth stop for the event. In time I think it will make it, but by reading this thread it's obvious some tweaking needs to be done. However, that was the case each and every time the event moved to a new location.

The Gridiron Club not LSU, not TAF puts on the event. There are no public employees involved with hosting the event. Volunteers do all the work and planning along with the workers from the host venue. It is the club's number one fundraiser.

If the event doesn't suit you fine, but Gerry Dinardo thought of having a huge party to celebrate our new recruiting class and LSU Football. It was always hosted by the Gridiron Club, and it was always suppose to be a fun, social event first.

Things evolve, but if it's no longer fun, don't come. If it's fun, and you get to drink a few brewskies with buddies, I'll see you there next year.

No It doesn't suit me or 80% of the Lsu fans. It's not what Dinardo had in mind today!! It's just another way, to get deep in our wallets, the fun of the event is being taken away by (over charging).

Don't sweat it, I'm Not coming!!!! have fun with your dwindling crowd.

No one could provide enough beer for 80% of LSU fans.
Few venues could hold that big of a crowd.

The Bash was never for everybody because everybody could not be accommodated. No club could ever swing that.

But it's what if is. People quit going to the River Center if they had not it would never have relocated. The option was a new place so they moved the event and for the most part catered it to the groups of people who still were coming.

You're right you can't please everyone.

If you don't want to pay $150 to sit at a VIP table then don't, they aren't pricing anyone out of the event.

I literally spent less than $30 all day, Ate at the bar, tipped, and drank a bloody mary and 3 or 4 beers, had a good time. Watched a few announcements with other fans, listened to the interviews being broadcasted downstairs. Only paid for two drinks, just sat at the video poker machine watching ESPNU and a waitress brought me a free drink within three minutes every time.

It is a social event for LSU fans to get together and celebrate the class, and the Gridiron Club to raise some money. I don't have anything to do with the damn Club, I just get so tired of everyone bitching about "reaching into our wallets" and "pricing out the average fans." I went, had a good time, spent $30.

I don't know how many schools do that but I thought it was a good idea....

Maybe open the doors around 3pm instead of early in the am....

It sounds like there are two main groups posting about this event:

1. Bought a table
2. Didn't buy a table

Group 1 is the primary one with the real gripes. Here's what we experienced.

1. Cost goes up $500/table ($50 each person) for the cheap tables
2. Start time gets pushed back a few hours
3. Food vendors are gone
4. Food provided by casino is garbage. I would have been pissed to pay more than $10 for that in a restaurant
5. Beer selection is reduced to three beers (Bud, Bud Light, Mich Ultra)
6. Table service is much worse with too few waitresses for the room

That's six big negatives, with the only possible positive being at the casino. I don't gamble, so that doesn't matter to me.

The focus of this event should have been to do right by the people who spent the most money. They screwed that up in every possible way.

is this a word for people who think they were pop stars before madonna was famous?

don't use words you have heard in passing if you don't know what they mean.

educate yourself a bit.

Maybe those that didn't like the venue could get together and rent or even have a signing party at home, everybody chip in and cook what you like.

Unless you like to wait for the girls to come on or the coaches, you can get all the information just about as soon as it's shown on TV. The event is just not the same as in the past but stayed home, grilled, had beer and enjoyed the event with about 30 crazies.

With the way Tiger fans tailgate it shouldn't be difficult to join up with a couple others, (We did)
