Would Surtain have started over Fulton or Stingley last year? You and old Lester let me know. Surtain didn’t look as bad against us as Diggs did...but it was close.

It would have been:
CB1- Stingley
CB2- Surtain
NCB- Fulton
As for who is actually better at boundary corner (compared to Fulton) it probably is Surtain.

I think the most impressive thing about Surtain was his ability to magically transform from Patrick Surtain, Jr to Patrick Surtain II when he arrived at Tuscaloosa. Doesn't appear there was a name change, just apparently thought it looked better on his Jersey. Rhodes scholarship committee is chomping at the bit.

I don’t understand why fans like you shite on Fulton. Guy was truly great the last two years. Simply a great CB. He had almost double the passes defended of Surtain with very similar numbers.

I think a lot of the reason Saban recruits this area heavily is to keep them away from us.

I love Fulton. I'm happy he stuck it out through his tough situation. Most people wouldn't have worked like he did while suspended. Without him this year, we wouldn't have won a championship.

We got Stingley last year and Ricks this year. Had we got an average Surtain we may not have gotten both of those guys. Hell even Flott may end up being better than Surtain. That’s the logic. Surtain has underachieved for a 5 star.

I don’t think you realize how fast Vincent is. Surtain got torched his entire freshman season when it mattered.

Nah I actually think he's a prick for leading our staff on and causing us to miss on other CBs we could have gotten. But, I still think he is a good football player.
