Why are you saying his college years were atrocious? Were Debo Jones' first two years atrocious? Russell Shephard's? Ron Brooks? All of these guys took years to become players for LSU and they all went on to NFL careers.
Excellent point but it'll be lost around here.
Using this same logic, why was everyone calling for Whit Weeks all year? He couldn't touch the field even with our atrocious LB play. He must be a waste of scholarship and a bad eval by the staff.
I'm no fan of the Ausberry take but this is the type of thinking that is celebrated around these parts.

Because his dad works at LSU and I’m sure he would go for free.

No you can’t to afford to “toss a scholarship” at every Louisiana recruit who snubbed us and wants to come back home. He’s not very good and we are VERY limited on achollies

Huh? What the hell are you talking about. Whit Weeks played a LOT for LSU...just didn't start that much. AND Whit Weeks was a TR FR where Ausberry has been at AU for 2 years, NOT 1. Your post is short on facts and long on irrelevant comparisons.

Would he be a preferred walk on since his dad is an employee and tuition is covered?
This would be the likely and ideal scenario.

Hearing now this is likely the case. Would be totally fine with this

His dad works for the university so we should not have to use a scholarship on him, correct?

Im sure BK worked out something here. Look at it this way, better than Harris or chestnut right?

Happy to have him walk-on or not. Scholarships are coaches decisions.

CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG Don't Employees of PUBLIC COLLEGE'S, children attend school free (pretty sure) Therefore a Scholly doesn't get wasted as a PWO as his tuition is paid
I am not correcting you, but making a follow up comment / asking a question.
I thought at some point the NCAA had a rule about certain institutional aid and head count sports.
That may have changed, and certainly athletic scholarships cover far more than simply tuition.

Because we just saw a Jordan Clark clone leave in Duce Chestnut.

You obviously haven’t looked at the more reliable recruiting service of on3. It has them both ranked 87 as a transfer ranking.

Has LSU made a single move that leads you to believe the defense will be ANY better in 2024?
Yes. They fired Matt House and others.

Maybe he didn't believe he could see the field at LSU, when he chose Auburn.
After witnessing the play on the field, he feels different.
Good luck to him.
