I really dont follow recruiting that much so I have a question. Soes anyone on here have any thoughts on reopening efforts towards Auburn Commits. I was looking at some of theirs and perhaps there are some opportunities?

Good news my friend.

The folks that committed to:
AU
Ala
Texam
Miss
ND
Etc

Have never stopped being pursued by Coach Brian Kelly.
I have no link.

But rest assured he understands recruiting and that his commitments aren’t signed, as well as other schools’ commits aren’t signed either.

Recruiting with NIL and the portal has turned into my favorite Boondock Saints line

It looks like all of Auburn's commits are lower ranked in positions that LSU either has currently filled or LSU is pursuing much higher ranked prospects.

The OL kid from Tampa and (Wedin) LB (T. Love) from Fairburn looked 8nteresting to me. And what is up with the Zachary Edge? I saw where we did not offer(maybe character or grades?) or maybe we already have better already committed here as eluded to in another response. Thanks!

The Cobb RB was interested in LSU at one point…… wouldn’t mind us pursuing him because we could use another RB for 2023

Kinda the opposite though, huh?

I am suspecting that he was just too far down the list at that position.

Hard pass. Some portal players maybe, but 95% of the reason Harsin was fired is because he was an exceedingly lazy recruiter who didn't even talk to in state high school coaches. He only got kids that either always wanted to go to Auburn (so they'll still go to Auburn) and kids that nobody else actually wanted and were probably G5/Vandy level program bound.

I'm sure there are a few depth pieces at worst in that group.

I don't think they've been too strong on recruiting the past 2 years. Where you could make an impact is getting upper classes that have a year or two left to fill some gaps in recruiting.

I can't imagine there's anybody the Coaches would like but who knows?

Prolly safe to say we'd take Tank Bigsby!
And isn't there one bad-arse DT that can transfer now, too?

ETA: Shite! A room with Bigsby/Goodwin/the 2 Freshman/Cain and maybe Emery would be stout!
Power/Elusiveness/Receiving are all there.

We don't need him based on what we've already taken, but I wouldn't have a huge problem picking up Ashley Williams late. He's a good athlete who can play that Jack spot for us, plus that frame looks like it could add a lot of weight and he might grow into a defensive end over time. As a project recruit to fill out the class he could have value. I see Womack and Howard as kids who will be here three years and then go off to make millions, so it's not a terrible idea to get some program guys in behind them while you don't have a signing-class limit.

Otherwise, though, I don't see anybody on that list that we've got to have.

LSU isn't really recruiting a lot of their commits. It seems most of the guys we have are higher graded. Auburn's class kinda sucks.

Like this take! Suspect they have So, Jrs and Srs looking for a chance elsewhere as that program becomes a dumpster fire.

Don't think he would have seen the field here first year or so anyways
