From two buddies-Atkins got two unsportsmanlike penalties last night and could have and should have gotten several more.

He was finally ejected after he removed his helmet after a tackle and stood over a ball carrier yelling at him.

I don’t care about talent.


I worry about recruiting crap character

I happen to know a couple of LSU buddies who are J-H supporters and they are not real high on this kid beyond his obvious on field abilities.

I can say this as 100% facts....


Charles Scott is also from JH and he told me that Xavier is a legit. Natural instincts, sheds blocks, super athletic and strong and his 40 time was the thing that caught Matt Houses eye.

I watched this kid last night play against a crappy Lakeview team. This kid had atleast 4 solo sacks, a pick 6 from about 50 yards out, a blocked punt, scored a Receiving TD on limited time on offense. The best play of the entire game in my eyes was when he was running down as a gunner on a punt and everyone on both teams just stopped running basically because they thought the punt was going into the endzone. Atkins was the only player that continued to run and downed the punt inside the 1 yard line.

I know this kid and know him well enough to know that he will not be a problem at LSU, he wants to be coached hard and improve and become the best player he can be. There are certain people at JH that were perfectly fine with this kid until he got the LSU offer and now the haters all over but especially in JH have come out of the wood work and trying to point out anything negative about this kid. If people knew this kid like i do, they will know that he is a good kid and if they knew what this kid has been through and put up with they would respect this kid. He has done things for his little brothers that would make a grown man shed a tear.

For someone to come on here and talk S#*& about a person that our Defensive Coordinator thinks enough of to offer him a scholarship, and LSU, Missouri, Texas A&M and Tennessee all want this kid. He is 120% solid LSU for various reasons. For all of those coaches to be willing to use a scholarship on him tells me more then anyone on tigerdroppings can.

Does that mean that coaches do not make mistakes? Not at all, but i trust their judgment more then my biased eyes or someone else who is trying to knock a kid that is 15, living a life that most of us would crumble in and playing for a team that is not very good and a coaching staff that might be less then desirable.
