Atkins kid at Jonesboro-Hodge. Are we in or out?

This kid has disappeared this year as has his team.
He was all over social media last Fall and became an overnight sensation while his team ran all the way to the 2A Semis, barely losing to State Champion Amite. Jonesboro-Hodge was loaded on offense and all the J-H defense had to do was hold opponents to two or three scores a game and they won.
This kid had about 150 tackles last year and got offered by Missouri and others before LSU offered him.
This year he has disappeared. The team is O-3. They aren't scoring many points and the defense is averaging giving up more than 30 a game. You can't find any mention of him or his stats anywhere.
He didn't play in the first half of their only game against a quality opponent, General Trass (Lake Providence) because he was suspended for disciplinary reasons.
I've seen film of him last year. He runs well. Tackles better than average. Is very erratic with his reads and technique. Seems to just be flying around chasing the first thing he sees. Talented without a doubt but I don't see him as an SEC linebacker. And the fact that he has disappeared from the radar now that his team isn't scoring buckets of points every week like last year to take the pressure off of him and the defense doesn't speak well of his leadership abilities or his dominance.
Thoughts from the gallery?

Weird first post.
Seems like it's the weird Tacket Curtis crew for the most part.

I said this last week on the thread discussing him and got down voted to oblivion. Bunkie moved up and down the field on them last week and bunkie isn’t very good. They have a huge d line and some athletes on the defense but as a team they looked very soft compared to the last few years.
He was able to roam and make a lot of plays last year bc they were stacked with athletes all over the place. Now that the lost some of those athletes not much Stands out with him.

AP83 is exactly right.
And nothing weird about my post.
I’m new here and I kinda thought this kid was way overblown last year and that we offered him in haste and I think this year is bearing that out so far

I'm still way in. Good build and sideline-to-sideline speed with some thump. He's not a guy that we're bringing in as a crown jewel, but he could be.

Strange post questioning whether a kid deserves a scholarship when the staff has offered. Why? I don’t care what his team is doing. Their Coach sux and worships Bama.

Who the frick is “we” you numbnut. You on the coaching staff? No you’re a dumbass that thinks he knows something about football. Do everyone a favor and stop slandering kids who are blessed with an LSU offer. “Offered in haste” do you know how stupid you sound?

I’ll leave the recruit evaluation to the coaching staff. If house thinks he’s SEC quality then he’s more than likely SEC quality. you haven’t even seen him play this year nor do you know his stats or how he’s been doing and your making this post… why exactly?

They’re a young team this year. I’m pretty sure he’s had over 10 tackles per game including 12 with 5 for a loss against bunkie but he’s just one player and can’t make every play. I mean as a linebacker and a team knows they can throw all over your team you’re not gonna have as many tackles. As for the offense they’ve been playing a a kid that’s hasn’t been good at all but the game against Bunkie they switched quarterbacks during the game and new quarterback led the team to 20 unanswered points. They had chances to win but two turnovers prevented that.
I believe he’s 100% LSU even though he did have an official visit to A&M last weekend

Hi either Tackett, Tackett’s dad, or Tacket’s
Coach. Welcome to the rant.

I'm not sure what social media you're on, but I follow a lot of the LSU recruiting staff on Twitter and see a retweet of one in this kid's tweets at least once a week.

I think this is the second negative thread about this kid in a week or so. That's kind of weird, especially considering he's a 2024 commitment.

Beans & Franks!!!!!!!!!!
(please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers that)
At his classification and dare I say questionable development-coaching he'll get back on the radar by camping.
He's got the frame, with S&C, to be Div-I for sure. But there's other factors he will have to demonstrate to the coaches he won't be able to in JHodge games.

You forgot his uncle

He was offered by Matt House after 2 camps and evaluation process, I believe the DC at LSU trust his eyes. He was offered by Missouri by our LB coach Baker from last year, these are 2 DCs whom specialize in LBs. If we were to take players based on 21 other players on a bad team, we would miss out I assume on some pretty good athletes. He made over 200 tackles last year, playing against a kindergarten schedule would still be remarkable averaging 18 tackles a game. I trust the Coaches on this one.

He’s all LSU and he didn’t take a OV to College Station. He wants to enjoy the process and I’m not mad about it. Like you said he can’t be the entire team. He had a slow start but has turned it up the last few weeks.
