Are we worried about losing Maurice Hampton to another school?

I know he’s likely to go play baseball, but why would he not sign today even if that was the case. I know Ole Miss wants him. Anyone have any information on him?

Cause he might get drafted.
No it's either lsu or the draft for him
Thought he was always coming here but now I don't think he makes it

The draft is in June. If he was going to sign here why wouldn’t he do it today?

Don't worry. He is all LSU. He will sign in February.

It’s a bad spot to be in for LSU. If he signs LOI with LSU and then goes play baseball we loose the availability of that that scholarship

Probably bc we don’t want him to sign. If he signs and goes to MLB then we lose his scholarship. If we have an agreement (LSU and Hampton) to leave a spot open then we have much more flexibility. If he doesn’t play baseball, he signs with LSU. If he plays baseball then we take a summer transfer or have an open spot to take 26 signees the next year.

Doesn't he have a first round draft grade? I'd be shocked if he passed that up.

We DO NOT lose his scholly we lose the ability to sign another person. Only hard rule in football is a team can only have 84 scholly players at once unless on probation then it is less

I think it was whitefoot that mentioned this... Blue Shirt

If that VERBAL agreement is in place, and he hasn't had an OV (or in-home) then a blue shirt is the way to go here.

I cant imagine Maurice chooses the MLB route. the highest ive seen him on a draft board is the last pick of the second round. The signing bonus would just not seem worth it(dramatically smaller after top 10picks) imo when you have the options that he does. but thats just my 2cents
