Anyone think Heard will move to Guard once he gets here

He is too talented to sit 2 year at OT. So move him inside and play him at LG or RG. He seems like a much more talented higher ceiling Anthony Bradford.

I know schools that are stacked with O line talent do this, not really a problem LSU has had to worry about a lot.

Will be a nice change

I would guess Jones would move inside and Heard at RT.

That's what I was thinking. Heard has the prototypical size and long arms to be an OT. Jones would be a great pulling guard with his athleticism and strength. That being said, Jones has done so well at RT it might be hard to justify moving him.

Kelly will do a fine job of deciding if heard should bump inside as a tf or redshirt behind a true soph OT on either side with an upperclassman behind him.

I’d prefer that one of the upper class men “gets it” like Bennie Logan did and let heard mature for a year

That makes will/Emory a jr while he plays as a rs fr putting two years between them.

Then I prefer that we have this problem every year.

It'll be a matter of which way makes the O-line better overall. There's just no way to even have an educated guess at this point.

If BK puts the best 5 OLinemen on the field Heard will be one of them, IMHO.

Hard to believe we could have 3 Homegrown true freshmen capable of starting day 1 in just 2 years.
Jones' future is inside so if Heard is good enough I'd think he'd be at RT, but who knows?
We got lots of in shape big uglies on the Ponderosa now, baws.
One thing about Heard outside is the backs/TE's(Taylor, anyway) know how to chip/help on the initial pass rush surge since they've done it already this year.
Bradford is better than you think. IIRC Chasen Hines got drafted, so if Brad decides to go he will too.

Heard is a bit raw right? Prototype OT but a year at guard might be best.

Honestly who knows

Great problem.

Josh Williams says hello

He put 2 DL lineman on their arse against Ole Miss.

I'm watching the reply and was wondering how the hell EJ50 and he was just laying on him. Well upon further inspection, it was JW27 who chipped and knocked him off his feet.

The other one was a pass route he caught and took up the sideline. He chipped the edge again, gave JD5 all day and a simple checkdown went for a nice 15 yards.

Really impressed with 27 this year

Let’s hope we don’t need another year of a true freshman starting at T. What we are currently witnessing is the exception, not the norm.

Heard ain’t playing inside. Seen him play and that dude was built to be a Tackle. I would think Jones would move inside.

I read an article about the top tackles in the 23’ cycle and Heard was #6. What blew me away was that he has 37” arms which is very elite length for O-lineman. If he comes in ready to play maybe E. Jones slides inside. At the very least he could play guard until one of the tackle spots open up.

I think you are right. Definitely not permanent though... Bayou Cowboy is right.

I love seeing young OTs start inside where they can be helped on their shoulders.

Yep. Making my point. The other guys in the room know it's important if they want to play.
You just gave me something to consider, My Man!
I had Turner as a runaway Most Improved Player till just now. I think we have a contest!

I kinda Thought that too, but Jonesnis likely gonna be a freshmen all American at RT.

Which is sorta what you could hope from Heard

So why move a proven player to hope they incoming freshmen is as good as him?

This was my understanding. That he has all the talent in the world but will need a year or two to develop and isn't ready to play year one like Jones and Campbell.

Heard is a better prospect that Campbell & Jones coming out. But may take a back seat because they’ll have a hear on him.

Regardless, lsu will have a wonderful option to be a swing player on the OL. Not many lines anywhere that have a starting caliber LT playing inside

Jones would move inside at guard and Heard would move RT. Man if Dellenger doesn't leave a year early, by 2024 the line could be Campbell Dellenger West Jones Heard. That's a brick wall with great athleticism.
