Exit meetings are probably going on right now. But we’re expected to have quite a few enter in the coming days. Portal officially opens on the 24th. So movement will start picking up

Tennessee has gotten great players from obscure directional schools two years in a row and LSU never seems to hit on those.

Because Tennessee gets good ones and we don't.

One good reason why Tennessee would want to hire CMM for there coach after what he has done at LSU?

At this point, I don’t even think McMahon cares that much about next season. He knows that he’s ruined fan support, and he’s just hanging on and hiding from the media to get his money. We can thank both McMahon & Woody for killing LSU basketball.

Gonna start the portal thread soon. But be on the lookout, McMahon was one of his first offers back when he took the job in '21

See that’s the thing about fan support, they tend to forget about the losing and looking inept if you start winning. It heals all. If he can turn it around next year, he will be supported by everyone outside of the Wade Brigade.

What constitutes "success" at this point? In years 1 and 3 McMahon won 12 and 11 games vs. a weak non-conf. schedule. The one year he played a somewhat decent non-conf schedule, he flopped with an 8-5 record which kept LSU from even being the discussion for a NCAA Tournament bid despite a 9-9 SEC record. A record that one team (A&M) reached the tournament with and another (Miss. St) made it with an 8-10 SEC record.

The point is, I don't think any rational LSU fan will be fooled this time by a gaudy non-conf. record against a weak schedule. But even assuming he gets that, what is your definition of a "turnaround" or "winning"? Technically he could double his SEC wins from this year and still only go 6-12 in the league. Is that anything to celebrate in year 4? Hell, Texas is strongly considering firing their HC after such a performance this year...and his prior two seasons at Texas are leaps and bounds better than anything McMahon has done at LSU.

LSU basketball fans just want LSU to win. Those fans strongly supported Wade and still support Wade because he did just that at a level of consistency not seen at LSU in 30 years. They would support McMahon like that too if he won. But his "success" shouldn't be judged upon the level of ridiculously low expectations he created.

LSU should cut bait now. However, given it is obvious that won't happen next year ought to be a strong ultimatum. Either you are in the mix in the upper half of the SEC and beating good OOC teams en route to a lock in the NCAA Tournament, or this waste of time comes to an end. We don't need the Sharon Weston-Broome definition of "success" where one celebrates the "success" of a reduction in homicides from an historic high to a level just slightly less than the worst ever.
