Was this by choice, or did we tell him to move on? Looks like he didn't want to be behind the Log Jam, but was a good Prospect. I asked cuz I don't know much about him...
Edit: Why the DVs? This is a legitimate question

It was mutual I'd guess, we were short on spots and he wanted to go somewhere he'd potentially start as a true freshman knowing he could go pro after his sophomore year.

A lot to do with playing time, the OF portal additions pretty much eliminated a need for him. This was known for a while, he wasn’t going to make it in the class and was pretty much just using LSU as leverage to get drafted higher.

Let’s just say your team is absolutely loaded when you are mutually agreeing as a coach that it’s best for a top 100 overall player to look elsewhere for a better opportunity.

Also I’m sure Miami gave him a nice nil deal to forego mlb
He wasn’t gonna play much for lsu as a fr
Plus lsu enticed Washington and Davis to delay mlb
Murphy is also a draft eligible soph so lsu gets the other two for three years
Easier to convince them to sacrifice playing time as fr but if they are good enough to push they will

Through his communications lsu likely assumed he would never make it to campus. And when players like Nate Davis, Malachi Washington & Nawrocki committed on top of 3 transfer portal OF’ers, there definitely wasn’t any need or room for him from the LSU side.
Seems like he may be struggling to get his number, this made a business to move on.
