Seems as if he is solid too

But I don't think that's going to happen."

this kid can ball IMO... the ball just flys out of his hand and accurate too

Why? I just don't see who might pull him away.
Because he's still coming off an injury and his stock isn't likely at peak value. He will garner more attention as he plays this years and many, many schools will come calling.

quote:Who do you think might pull them away? USCw is not going to offer Rettig. UGA is not going to offer Jennings. Those were their respective childhood favorites, and neither is a threat. All the recruiting powers except FSU (USCw, UGA, tOSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Bama, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida) already have their quarterbacks. Who else offers anything close to what LSU does?
Jennings recruitment didn't start heating up until right before he gave us his verbal...that has me worried. Same thing with sunshine boy and being on the west coast...
quote:We have landed blue chip QB's--Russell, Flynn, Perrilloux, J. Lee, Z. Lee, Randall and Mettenberger were all blue chip recruits with lots of offers. We got burned by a kid who we knew all along was going to have distance issues. That is not the case with either of these guys.
If this logic was true, in the past we would've landed more blue chip QBs...did you forget just recently we got burned?

Gotta give credit to Krags QB position is going to have stability in years to come.

Even if his stock goes through the roof, LSU (along with 1-2 others who already have their QB classes set) is still the best offer there is to have in the whole country, and he's already accepted it. USCw is the ONLY school that could pull him away, and they aren't going to pursue. This isn't some kid who will go to Cal or UCLA just to stay out west. He wants to play with the best and win titles.

Def like him better than that johnson cat that committed to Auburn, maybe a blessing in disguise for the Staff.

quote:I agree with this 100%. The coaching staff earmarked Johnson as their primary dual threat qb once Barrett was off the board. They knew he'd make his decision before the summer so they put an all out press on him. But Johnson's commitment to AU forced us to take a closer look at Jennings who is a better overall qb, dual threat or not. Les really, really wanted Bateman but we got Rettig instead, who has slightly more arm strength and seems to be a little bit tougher guy. All things considered, you know you're living right when you land two second or third options at qb that are probably better than the first. Could it be that Les is finally receiving some positive karma for having the sack to run Perrilloux off? It sure seems that way.

He looks like an all around solid QB, lots of potential, but he's polished not raw. Accuracy, arm strength, footwork, he even goes through his progressions and reads defenses. He also beat out dozens of QB's, some highly rated, at the atlanta elite 11. Another steal in this recruiting class
