Which makes our former AD fat Scott look so bad considering he bent over for them instead of fighting

I’m sure Lane will try to get one or both of the guys he had at Ole Miss. It makes the transition much easier.

NIL $2.4 million a year at TCU. Will go to highest bidder for final year.

I would say it is more than “just a few more dollars”. If he gave TCU 4 years, then he has met any loyalty he owes them.
Most college football players will either never play pro ball or will barely serve time on a practice squad. This is the only time in their life that most will be able to profit financially off of their athletic ability. I can’t blame them.

He’s not a dual threat at all
I think people equate Dual Threat to rushing yards, which isn't, in my opinion, always how it works because of sack yardage. I see that he had a run of 5+ yards in 20 of his 31 starts, which shows he has a willingness to run and can pick up decent yards when he does. When I've watched him, I've thought that he clearly has enough athleticism to keep plays alive. He's not an elite speed threat by any means, but he does force defenses to respect the possibility of him tucking the ball.

So if NIL existed 10-20 years ago, Andy Dalton, and Trevone Boykin would have upped and left TCU? It’s just wild to see some of these mercenaries leaving their schools for nothing more than a few more dollars. Hoover has been at TCU for 4 years now. Gone are the days of a player sticking out his whole career at once place.

I agree with your sentiment. But you note he’s been at TCU for 4 years. Before NIL plenty of players graduated in 3-4 years and then left to go to other/better schools as a “graduate transfer.”
