Rather lose out on some transfers and get the right coach than hire just anyone in hopes of getting some current transfers. It’s not like there isn’t another portal opening coming.

Sounds like we may have made a move for Robinson, were waiting on that, and it just didn’t work out. I would expect there will probably be an announcement on Raymond soon.

I didn't sat go out and hire the wrong one, but the transfers we want probably aren't going to come if they don't know who their coach is.

Hoping the announcement will be he is coaching somewhere other than LSU. The obsession with Raymond is strange. He did well earlier in his time at LSU but the last few years he didn't keep it a secret he thought he was underpaid and also his ability to get top notch CBs went downhill. I give him little credit for hometown superstar Derek Stingley. There is a reason that Kelly has had to hit the portal hard for secondary players since he has been at LSU. Also, apparently Florida wasn't too impressed with him...didn't last long there.
Raymond last stint at LSU (secondary players signed...H for hit, M for miss...obviously IMO)
2012 - C Thompson, D Thomas, D Raymond, J Sandolph (all M)...Jalen Mills H
2013 - Tre White H, R Robinson M, J Brazil M, R Jefferson -

2021 - S Ryan, D McGhee, D Davis, M Langlois, Q Cage, M Burns (all M) IMO (Ryan and Burns have played a lot but aren't SEC caliber starters)
For you secondary detractors, want to know why you think the secondary is bad...look at the signees for 2020 and 2021. McGlothern is the only guy I like and he transferred

Ricky Jefferson was a hit too. And Ricks. He was a huge talent who got injured then transfered out due to coaching changes.
