They do that now anyhow, nagging injury amplified towards end of season, they just sit out last 2 games to prevent further aggravation, nobody ever knows how many 100s of times it’s been done before, don’t be gullible.

I’ll put it like this…If I’m a high school coach trying to make a living and my career depending on how well my teams play, I sure wouldn’t go out of my way to steer a kid to a specific school or college coach if they are encouraging or enabling that type of behavior.

Not to mention that NFL does deep research on what makes up each player and who they are, this screams red flag.

This is exactly the point I weas gonna make. NFL teams are already paying close attention to the sitting out of ends of college seasons and meaningless bowl games

This will backfire by telling potential colleges that this guy will play 2 years and opt out his 3rd year for the draft.

Wouldn’t the coaches withdraw their offers. If they will abandon the HS team, they will abandon the college team, and so on…

He may make it to campus healthy but should he sit out of spring ball? He might get hurt. Or fall practice? Hell maybe he should sit out till draft night... you know don’t want to get hurt.

Seriously, you can’t hide from the dangers of football or life.

You seem to relish dogpiling the older/wiser group here.

BTW, I'm far from a boomer. Rather, I was intimately involved with LSU football for years including the recruiting side.

Your acceptance of kids taking this self-preservation route actually punctuates the sad trajectory the sport is headed in. You'd likely be fine with a player hitting 1 year in college and jumping to the NFL.......and thats the rub. You 're interest is solely in the professional game.

What's lost on you is the psychological development in the formative years. Fast-tracking a kid to fame and fortune has longer implications, many of which can bite a professional team in the arse.

But, get off my lawn! Right?

elite talent (think Fournette, Jamarr Chase) can do so and get away with it

average talent can't so easily

Blue is a bad seed, fights with the coaches and fellow team mates. His choices were limited to 2. Sit or move to a different district.

Simular to Evans who is at TCU.

However, it did not cause them not to draft those guys. There were several 1st round guys who opted out. Christian McCaffrey and Fournette both skipped their "meaningless bowl game" after the 2016 seasons McCaffery was the 8th pick of the first round in 2017 and Fournette was 4th pick of that same draft.

Fans take this to heard, that is why fans are fans. NFL I personally think does not care. Can you play or not?

Shaq committed to LSU as a 9th grader. Should he have skipped his entire HS career?

The slippery slope is turning into a cliff.

Respect my decision to not attend high school so I can play pickup basketball all day to prepare for college.
