I get why a player and his family would want to carefully weigh his options, and I understand why a player wants to commit if it can reduce some of the recruiting pressure. However, I fail to understand the advantage of committing so early if you are still open to other options?

“My thing right now is to continue to weigh my options and look at other schools,” he said. “LSU will always be number one. I just want to make the right decision.”
Those other schools that Moses would like to look at have already been identified. Florida State, Texas and Alabama have each caught his attention since his commitment.
“I went to Florida State and it just opened up my eyes a lot,” he said. “That was my first time visiting Florida State. I went three or four weeks ago. It’s a beautiful campus and a beautiful place. That’s another place I can see myself at.
“With Texas, when I go there, the Texas campus is like a small town. It’s very big, everything is big. The coaching staff is very great. I love Coach (Charlie) Strong. He’s a very cool guy. I like them too.
“Alabama, I’ve always loved them. They were like my next love after LSU. Also they were the second team to offer me. I have a good relationship with the coaching staff. they’re really good and they always roll out the red carpet for me when I’m over there.”

wait this is it? I believe this was a given and considering how many years away this is, things could change.

Congratulations Jrevonte. I know you are a proud father of this great young man.

Next time YOU get acknowledged as the absolute BEST of anything in the nation, please feel free to post about it.
This is an AWESOME honor for an excellent young man. One that was earned over YEARS of effort and demonstrated time and again in camps against all challengers. And, he happens to be committed to the team I cheer like hell for!

OK, so we're talking 2017 here. How much could change before then? Little Nicky and the gumps are probably lining up their bag men and Strong has "Texas money" backing him up. Whenever someone is that highly recruited, things get unpredictable. What are the odds that he'll keep his commitment to LSU? Knowing how the recruiting game goes, I start developing doubts.
Then I think of 3 encouraging facts:
1) Dylan and his dad are class acts
2) They already indicated that once they made a commitment, it wouldn't change.
3) Jrevonte posted this as an atomic boom on the LSU recruiting board. Now It's obvious that this is only an LSU recruiting boom if Dylan ends up signing with the tigers.
Therefore, although I'll be worried until we actually sign him, my read of this is that the #1 recruit for 2017 (and his dad) are planning to stick with their commitment and sign with the purple and gold....
