The transfer market is going to become like free agency. Saban warned everyone, now they will go cherry pick players at positions of need.

This has nothing to do with the transfer rules. He’s being released from is LOI and is immediately eligible. Releases like that are only granted in extraordinary circumstances like family illness. There are rules in place to prevent teams from benefiting from situations like this, they just apparently don’t apply to Alabama.

Well see, there you go. He IS transferring to be closer to his family. It just so happened his family was coincidentally moving to Alabama and that the state of Alabama happens to have a college with a really good football program.

Take off the tinfoil hats. There's nothing to see here

Did Alabama not use their full allotment of 2018 recruits? Wouldn’t he count against that class?

Why not just be straight up about it? Why lie and say there's a serious family issue? This dude is a douchebag.

He probably made that shite up to get out of the NLI.

Probably?

Washington had no obligation to release him from his LOI. Clearly, he had to produce some reason to make Washington do so. Either (A) the family (though Bama media contacts) was going to make a huge production about how shitty Washington and/or Chris Petersen are by taking advantage of a "poor kid having a hard time with the death of a family member" or (B) there was some "dirt" on Washington with regards to his recruiting that was going to magically be exposed if Washington didn't let him go to be "closer to his family".

I'm sure Bama did what the needed to do to cover their tracks and I'm also sure other schools do nefarious acts to get players, but unless you are just willfully disingenuous this is just blatant, tampering. Of course, no media member has the stones to really push this. They are all in a frenzy to be the first to get Urban Meyer fired.

Saban getting in trouble would be a bigger story than urban going down IMO

Unfortunately the first thing you said will never ever happen, ever as long as Emmert is in power!

I would love for this situation to at least put the hound dogs onto Alabama's scent but that is just wishful thinking

it's not a transfer, he never enrolled at Washington. Also, I don't see any reference to being closer to family. Family troubles is listed as the reason.

Took about two seconds to find this:

"His family was really adamant that he needs to—he's going through some stuff and he needs to be close to his family. And we get that. You’ve got to do the right thing. We wish him the best."

Most know by now that bama plays by a different set of rules than the rest of us.

Its part of the reason why they're as good as they are.
