Saban's recruiting in Louisiana is very over-rated. Christian Harris is LSU's only miss in the last 5 years, not including current signees who are unproven.

Over the past 5 years, including 2022, Alabama has signed 10 players:

2022: 4 signees during a transition year: Lewis, Law, Anderson and Preston

2021: 1 signee: Kaine Williams (did he even have an LSU offer?) He's already transferred.

2020: 1 signee Kyle Edwards (don't think he had an LSU offer)Has already transferred to Southeastern Louisiana

2019: 2 signees, Sopsher and Harris. Sopsher has already transferred. Harris is a very good player.

2018: 2 signees Slade Bolden and Eddie Smith. Both 3 stars. Bolden was extremely average and Smith has transferred.

No he didn't, he just got drafted.

Touche, he went undrafted, signed with Baltimore. My apologies.

My bad, Bolden didn't transfer. I will fix that.

However, he also didn't get drafted.

You are missing the OLBer from Southern Lab that was highly recruited. Think he got hurt. Not sure if he is still on their roster or not.

Chris Allen was the 2017 class.

He had one good year where he was 2nd team All-SEC. The others were mostly lost due to injury. He is currently with the Broncos as an UDFA.

Why do “we” love to over value this guy? He signed an undrafted free agent contract with Baltimore. If he’s lucky enough, he’ll make the roster as the 5 wr and play special teams.

You probably gnashed your teeth over Sopsher as well.

I see he entered the transfer portal again from USC, but don't see where/if he landed anywhere. Will probably end up at Nichols before it is all over with.

Coach O tenure didnt end well but I give him credit for keeping Saban out of his backyard during his tenure. 2017 was another transition cycle where we lost D. Smith, Allen, and Mathis.

Saban was cherry-picking Louisiana during the last 4-5 years of Les tenure.

I hope Kelly can get things back in order as far as locking down the the state.

Yeah nobody likes to admit it but from 2018-2021 Saban didnt land anyone outside Harris we would really care about which is kudos to Coach O there.

That 2022 class I have a bad feeling about being a thorn in our side for the next few years though unfortunately. Just the (hopefully) short term ramifications of changing coaches though.

Haha Looks like I missed Danny Lewis. A 3-star who will likely never play there, which only furthers my point.

Haha

Who else did I miss. Haha

Does it matter that LSU recruits the state of Alabama? Does it matter that in the draft earlier this month two LSU players from Alabama were drafted? Why does nobody ever mention that little detail?
