We’ve had a few lsu guys go to the gumps… I don’t think these kids care that much about that, which ever school gives them the most NIL / playing time is where they go

Unless these kids just want to play for their home state school, they are just gonna go to whoever writes the biggest check. School loyalty is from days gone by.

It kinda feels like when women’s bball was in the mix for those portal players after their championship. I just feel like we’re in the driver’s seat…doesn’t mean we get him..but that’s kind of the feeling I have.

Wake Forest wrote the biggest check for Chase Burns? I really doubt that.

"Tennessee on Monday, Mississippi State on Tuesday and LSU on Wednesday. Then after that I'll probably go to Alabama to stay at my townhouse for a day then go to Auburn as well. It's gonna be a long week," Holman said.

If we get him our pitching staff has a chance to be formidable! Not as top heavy as this past season but potentially more balanced.

Well, if you ask any pretentious Gump, LSU isn't considered a rival.

My point still stands

So is Auburn in the running also or just going there for a non-baseball trip??

Let's be honest Alvin Kamara would've went much higher in the draft if he would've avoided TN at the time. I was okay with him going to TN at that point because I'm a saints fan and there would've been no way the saints would've gotten him in the 3rd if he would've went somewhere else in the sec.

Not comparing player to player (there isn't a "next Paul Skenes") just role to role spots, we had 2 every weekend SEC starters: Skenes and Floyd. We had Cooper, Hurd, Ack and Herring who were game 3 starters/high leverage relievers. We had Money and Little who were mid-week/low leverage relievers. Then you had Guidry as a closer and Coleman as basically a 2-inning starter as he worked his way back. Essentially a 10-man staff.

Best guess for '24 is Hurd is going to take one of the Skenes/Floyd every weekend game 1 or 2 spots. Herring could move into one of those spots or stay with the Game 3/high leverage spots. Same with Ack. A "right" Little could easily move into one of those spots (or Guidry's if Gavin moves to full-time infielder). So, after Hurd, Herring and Ack you have 4 openings for SEC Starter/High Leverage Reliever. Johnson, Anderson, Brown (and maybe Coleman) will compete for those spots. Holman would fit in nicely in that competition.

Justin Loer will very likely be a weekend guy.
