Texas A&M has always had the offense to really put up some points. But now Jimbo has gone in and already landed based on the composite on 247, the nations 2nd and 8th overall safety prospects. The 12th and 26th overall cornerbacks. The 14th rated weakside defensive end. The 18th rated defensive tackle. And a host of 3 star linebackers and another couple of other lineman.
Of all the SEC programs that have been through a coaching change in say the last 2-3 seasons, it's Texas A&M with their top 3 richest athletic department that honestly puts the most fear in me at this point. Jimbo is a national title winning coach that will always field at the very least a top let's say 15-25 offense overall. Which when factoring out the mid level and smaller schools that don't truly compete whatsoever a la an SMU or Hawaii. Then it's really that were talking about a top 10 offense out of those who are playoff contenders. Our winning streak at LSU over A&M is something I've always seen as something that definitely was more a system beating another system and thats not something that needs more explanation. But that's quite over and now Jimbo is about to stock up that roster with nothing but top level defensive talent....
If this doesn't make you take a step back and look at A&M I a much different light then you just don't really know what you're looking at. Jimbo left a program in Florida State that had literally only one or two other programs that either are elite or have the potential to be. A place where he was in total control over his team and didn't have to answer to anyone really. And then went to the SEC west where there are 5 other programs in the division that have potential to win and win big each and every season...Also its not like he has any better a situation when talking recruiting going into Texas as the "little brother" program as well as the added bonus us of having to out recruit other SEC schools. I have had the feeling that Jimbo went into the SEC because he had the thought that winning at Florida State wasn't enough to make him be seen as an elite coach to himself or the collective college football world. As if he thinks winning in the SEC is going to make him become the "legend" I believe he wants to be. The LSU situation that was essentially him saying no to the athletic department here has elements I think are unknown and honestly I'm not sure that he didn't want to come here because he'd be having to take over a school that was in some sort of black cloud type of thing...We could've payed him and maybe he didn't come over money but I truly believe it was more about this program and it's perception being so awful after miles left. So he waited and then got the second richest program in the nation.
I'm not gonna lie....I think Jimbo is going to be destroying the SEC in only a two or three year span. I believe LSU will beat them again this season, but after that I have a feeling that not many teams are going to be beating A&M.
Get prepared to watch Texas A&M winning under Jimbo and it's so clear that thw fanbase will just melt everytime his name is brought up.

That's what happens when you have disposable income as a university. They aren't cutting corners anywhere.

I made your downvote to upvote ratio 21 - 0 and I feel the need to point that out.

Jimbo needs an NFL starting QB to not average 3 losses per year or more and those don’t grow on trees; and he’s now coaching in the SEC, not the weak assed ACC.
Good luck with that...

Way too long. I read like the first paragraph or so.
A&m has had defensive talent before, they have a cultural problem. Who knows if they will overcome it.. but they’ve had talent before.

Get off Jimbo’s sack my brother!!!

My thing is, they’ve always been rich. Always have spent top dollar and they’ve always been a bunbch of bums. They haven’t won a conference championship in 20 years. Haven’t won a national title since the 40s....in a mediocre league with 2 power schools. I’m just not scared.
The 6-6 year really changed my mind on Jimbo too. Elite coaches just don’t have that happen.

Jimbo was Dabo’s Bitch in the a.c.c.
He left because of money. That simple. He had one of, if not, the richest recruiting ground in the country, football blue blood program, and steadily declined after Winston. The first losing record for FSU in I don’t know how many years.
Not scared of jimbo.
