Texas is in a great spot with Simmons after LSU visit. I typically am pessimistic when it comes to pulling 5 stars from any other state, but I feel like we have a good shot. I see this one going down to the wire though. Anyone know if he is an ESD guy? Or am I sweating this until February?

Wow. Read some of their stuff. I know we drink the Kool-Aid around here but Holy Hell they are just making stuff up.
Says who?…them. That’s who. Then followed up by this …
Sure. IF you guarantee that your IF happens? The sentence itself MEANS that UT does NOT have the momentum with him.
Look. I’m not saying that he’s signing with LSU. But to say “Texas holds all the cards” but admit “Texas doesn’t have the momentum.”
Man. They must not teach reading comprehension at that school.

there isn’t as much buzz surrounding the Tigers with Simmons coming out of this Bayou Splash visit as there was surrounding the Longhorns coming out of his late-June official visit to Austin.

If Texas can firmly get momentum back from LSU in the race to land the No. 1 2024 edge rusher in the coming days and/or weeks, it’s hard not to like the Longhorns here.

Same logic applies to Shea Dixons line of thinking with Wardell Mack. Don't see you criticizing him but I do see folks gulping that Kool Aid. Perception and reality are such bugaboos on the human psyche. We see and hear what we want even when the reasoning is identical.

I agree with you there, and i think we pull Simmons, but lose Mack unfortunately. I don't even think that Jamar Chase treatment will pull Mack.
With the the transfer portal DB's we pulled who have years of eligibility left, on top of our DB haul this recruiting cycle, our DB room is extremely deep now, whereas he can step right on to the field at Florida.
Texas and Florida both are throwing him a bag too, because they believe, whether rightly or wrongly, that Mack's recruitment is a statement, and they both desperately want to be able to say they pulled a 5 star corner out of New Orleans from LSU.

Let’s recap: Durham and Simmons attend Bayou Splash together. Durham and Simmons both tweet LSU propaganda during and after Bayou Splash. Durham and Simmons both change their commitment dates to August 1st following Bayou Splash.
…but yeah “Texas is leading” per Texas fans. Lol!
All I’m saying is that when guys that LSU is high on go to another school and this occurs, I lose all confidence. Not saying they are 100% LSU, but I feel good about our team’s position.

How confident are we about August 1st? I see people saying it on here but nothing concert on 247 or On3. All they say is Caden moved his date up.

Durham never changed his date to the 1st

Interesting. I didn’t see Shea say anything about Mack. I think he’s gone.
Way to Assume and get it completely wrong.

Yeah think that is high schoolers being high schoolers. I hope I’m wrong but think this plays out with Simmons.

Caden stated he was moving his commitment date. His mom tweeted at him something like "Hold on" after that he announced Top 3 at like 3pm. If we get anything from Simmons today I think it will be just a Top 3 I know he said something about Aug. 1st.

They are smart. Tell the rich kid Texas fans what they want to hear.

I never worry about a kid, why, odds are when they want to play games, they still play games in school. Anyone remember the #1 WR in the 2014 class. Speedy Noil, he was a WR we had to have. Looks like we did ok without him. I could go down a list of can’t miss kids. I’ve got two DL, LSU must get, could not miss players. Fans were so mad they went elsewhere. Both missed. Got a couple DB’s, I can find players LSU had to get. But talking with coaches I know, that have recruited players, sometimes you make the effort, but it’s better they go somewhere else. Not worth the effort, like a cancer on and off the field. If they don’t buy into your recruiting, your vision, they won’t be there when needed during game time.
