A&M Recruiting question

They’re at 27 players, currently, according to 247, Shemar Stewart and Harold Perkins are predicted to go there… how would they have room? I thought they maxed at 27.

They can only sign over 25 for each player who leaves via the portal before NSD, up to a max of 32. It’s not automatically 32.

Players have to leave before NSD for a slot to be used on a recruit this year. Teams can still use remaining spots out of the 7 extra that open up later on portal guys or they can wait and back count early enrollees the following year.

That's not half the problem. aggies only have about 10-11 sr scholarship players. Even with 4-5 players opting out early that still will be a bunch transferring on their own or being asked to move on.

There is no such thing as a grey shirt.
If a recruit is signed then he counts. They cannot unsign him once he signs a letter of intent.

This team's locker room will be shredded after next season I can't wait to see this. This will be a cold reminder that money doesn't buy you everything and it certainly doesn't buy you championships. They're absolutely desperate because they know when Texas is in the West there's no hope for A&M anymore to get a championship. They'd have no selling point other than money with Texas recruits and Texas can match/surpass that easily.
A&M about to find out the hard way why most of the rich universities have been irrelevant for decades because there's a lot more to winning championships than just dumping money on the lap of a recruit. They'll never figure it out.
At the first sign of a losing streak which know will happen under Dumbo Fisher these recruits are going to want blood and question why they're not out on the field. Going to be some major poaching off their roster next season. A&M doing a lot of the SEC teams favors by putting them all there. At least we know we can come in to poach once they start losing and they're not getting PT. Wouldn't have that chance on Bama's roster.
