A lot of the kids we’re recruiting for 2025 were born in 2007

Makes me feel so damn old. That was the year I started college and the year we won the national championship with Matt Flynn, Jacob Hester, Glenn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, etc. It’s also when the infamous Joe McKnight (RIP) meltdown happened on the Recruiting Board.

Time, slow your roll!!

That should make you feel young…my son is a 2025 recruit. I’m an old arse (started LSU in 1992).

As soon as you finish HS, you blink and then you're FORTY.

I'm 54 now, and go all the way back to 1977 with the tigahs. For you youngsters, enjoy it. TIME IS LIKE A BULLET.

Would say I have T-shirts older than you, but Katrina took care of all of those.

The amazing thing about these young kids is how developed their technique is, and how big and fast they are. Y’all are lucky enough not to remember how bad LSU was for my first semester. We lost every home game except Tulane (I think) and every road game except State.

Can’t imagine how janky our facilities were.

Dude, after my high school graduation, I came home and watched the TIGAHS win their first baseball championship. I remember a time when the only CFB game you got was “CFA college football game of the week” at 2:30 on ABC. It might’ve been a PAC 8, BIG 8 or southwest conference game.

You're right about the one 230 Sat game. But to be fair, that was usually an SEC game being shown in BR.

I remember during each broadcast they would show the next week's regional schedule for that time slot. They'd have about 8 games listed, maybe TEXAS -OKLAHOMA in huge letters at the top, with each game beneath gradually getting smaller letters. The bottom game would always be Dartmouth -Harvard or the like in tiny letters, and I'm guessing only one or two abc channels in the country got that game.

We went to a few games in Tiger stadium in my youth, but most game days I listened at home to John Ferguson BRILLIANTLY describing the action on 1150 WJBO.

Not trying to be funny, but did we have a separate Recruiting Board back then? I remember a time when everything was on tRant.

It'd be cool to get some kind of TD timeline/ history page.

That was even before Jefferson Pilot. And I think it was before the CFA. I don't think the CFA was established until that court case in the mid 80s freed up the schools to sell their games to different networks.

Tigervision was available for a number of games. But I think the price was $19.99 per game. I was a teen, and my parents weren't paying that price back then.

Talk about an incredible start to college; then, we won the CWS in 2009.

Yeah, I was jokingly referencing the fact that I remember those ancient conference names and alignments

I’m pretty sure the recruiting board existed. When he passed away there was a post by the TD staff referring to him as “Recruiting Board Legend Joe McKnight”.

Turning 30 is when the remote control got put on fast forward. I try to fix it only to make it worse.
