The team lands 9/10 of the top recruits in LA. That’s building a damn wall. I cannot remember the last time a coach put up a wall like this. Can y’all?

Did Miles ever go 9/10?

This might be the best LA recruiting in a looong time.

The quiet confidence Kelly has on recruiting is impressive.

I know that Saban will always be the measuring stick, but in his 2nd season he just built a roster with heartbeat all bleeding purple and gold. Honestly, idc what happens with Heard this makes me happy.

Does anyone still find that Louisiana is poorly evaluated by the recruiting services?

This state consistently produces NFL talent (despite bad evals) over most states not named California, Texas, Florida, Georgia & Ohio,

This year, Alabama has 4 5* players and 16 4* players while Louisiana has only 10 rated 4* and higher. Sure, people can say down year, but I think the services have always sucked in regards to evaluating Louisiana HS players.

This was a down year for Louisiana and a great year for Alabama. But I agree that Louisiana is often under-scouted.

2016. 9 of the top 10 and 12/15 like this season though only 10/12 (this year is 11/12). But that was also a really good year for Louisiana the top two were 5 stars, Kristian Fulton and Rashard Lawrence. That year produced a heck of a haul. LA recruits from the states top 15 on 247

#1 Kristian Fulton CB

#2 Rashard Lawrence DT

#3 Michael Divinity OLB

#4 Ed Alexander DT

#6 Stephen Sullivan WR

#7 Devin White listed as a RB but ended up playing LB

#8 Donavaughn Campbell OG

#9 Glen Logan DT

#10 Willie Allen OT

#12 Andre Anthony WDE

#13 Greedy Williams CB

#15 Jamal Pettigrew TE

Just think if this year can be similar

There was a year under Miles (can’t remember which one) where we put out 12 scholarship offers to LA kids and signed all 12.

Top 5 State in High School Football Recruits.
The only State with 1 Power 5 Football Team that’s ranked in the top 5 regularly in recruits.

Top 6 Recruiting States
Texas
Florida
California
Georgia
Ohio
Louisiana

59% of National Champions since 2000 coming from these 6 States.
Bama, Clemson, Auburn, Oklahoma being the outliers with 10 combined. Bama obviously skewing this a lot.
Of the 10 outside of the top 6 recruiting states. They combined to have 3 heisman winners and two #1 overall picks.
Auburn 2010 Natty Cam Newton HS Football Georgia
Clemson 2018 Natty Trevor Lawerence HS Georgia
Bama 2015 Natty Derrick Henry HS Florida
Clemson 2016 Natty Deshaun Watson HS Georgia
Bama 2009 Natty Greg Mclroy HS Texas
Bama 2020 Natty Devonta Smith HS Louisiana

Since 2000 only 2 times has the National Champion, Heisman Winner, or Starting QB for the National Champion not come from these top 6 states. 2000 Oklahoma and 2017 Alabama.
