Why are we talking like the class is over? You understand they have a second signing day in february right with plenty of good talent still left to recruit? LSU is probably going to land another blue chip by then at least.

Not sure how y’all can’t see by now that recruiting rankings aren’t worth all that much. Between bias, transfers and apathy from NIL it’s become a game of roster management like a Wild West NFL.

Brian Kelly actually is in a great position building a new program under these new parameters and seems to have a great grasp of the roster management aspect.

Well, the number 7 & 15 class in consecutive years became the 2019 LSU tigers. That worked out okay.

Absolutely, I agree. I was just saying they need to do a bit better - not that I don’t expect them to. Landing Harbor would go a long way and again further to my point of getting that one extra guy making a difference.

We just got a new coach

There's 2 teams (OU & Miami) ranked ahead of us with Year 1 coaches... relationships aren't as important as they use to be. That's why its so much player movement in college football.

You really cant forecast a depth chart two years out anymore. Kids aren't sticking around 2 or 3 years to get on the field.

Its a sprint to win NOW, its no longer a marathon. Player movement will get much worse once the 12-team playoff starts.

Screw the rankings. Brown and Sampson are as good as any receiver in the country. They were dropped in the rankings due to committing so early.

And we moved up to #9 on the Portal Transfer Rankings after Denver Harris joined the Tigers. And we are not done, hopefully more good news soon on this front.

Ill never believe that, regardless of rankings LOL

I'm not thrilled about how we did on the La top 10.

If by roster management you mean QB, then yes. The talent level of the top ten are negotiable, the QB is the difference maker, and as you stated, coaching

This! A good QB changes all the dynamics on classes. A nasty D and Good QB will make up for a lot of deficiencies

I would think we stay in the 5-10 range from here on out.

I doubt it. There were several top LA recruits lost before Kelly got here and a few who were leaving the state no matter what.

Look at the 24 class and the beginnings of 25. We will be back to dominating the state and keeping the top players home. If we do that and have the same success nationally we did this year, we will be in the 3-8 range yearly.

Miami and OU’s coaches were both .500 or below qthis season in pillow fight conferences. Guarantee BK would have done more with the same talent. At a certain point, your hit rate on evaluating and developing guys is so good you don't need to recruit at the tippy top. I think in ‘24 we will have a top 3 class. Everyone just needs to chill. BK is elite at doing more with less so when you get him even close to his competitions’ talent he can start to coach circles around them.

WR, OL, DT and Corner
how did we miss on all of those? we didn’t the only one we came in kind of light at the end was cornerback other than that two wide receivers stand out immediately.

please explain your reasoning on this one

Read my post. I said we missed on 2 out of those 4 areas that were needs coming into this class. We hit on OL and WR. We missed on DT and corner: 2/4.

This isn’t going to be a well received post but if we want to be a consistent playoff participant versus a once every 4-5 years we’re going to have to do a little bit better. A lot will say that the difference between where we are and top is marginal, but that margin is getting an extra Harold Perkins. Over the course of a few cycles that really adds up.

12 team playoffs. LSU is certified in with 10 wins a year.

Also it doesn't add up because you can lose them as easy as you get them with the transfer portal. Kelly isn't looking for one year assasins in the portal either. Look at how much time each guy has left.

We've added transfer rated:
Denver Harris - 96
Aaron Anderson - 92
Paris Shand - 92
Swinson and Lee are not transfer rated yet

Now you just inflating the numbers.

Those 3 guys were good pickups but not that damn high

We did not address needs at DT and Corner.
Toviano and Harris, Hughes and Stamps. I think that's 4 corners, right? We already have Welch and we just need a guy in the portal to give us some depth.
