best post defender on tbe team and said she does a lot of little things very well that the fans don’t notice .
It was Koval's first year with the team; she averaged over 8 points a game and slightly over 6 rebounds per game. She also had 43 blocks and 37 steals. She was only a true sophomore. She needs to get stronger and develop some post moves, She could be a double double machine. Finally she only averaged about 17 minutes per game.

I like Koval. She has really good feet and runs the court really well for a girl her size. Really good technique and skill as well. Plus, she’s scrappy for a big girl and dives on the floor for loose balls.
If she could just start making her bunnies and easy putbacks, quit putting the ball on the floor under the basket, and strengthen her hands to catch all of the passes, I’d be happy. Also, instead of holding the ball high she tends to drop it low, reducing her effective height from 6-5 to about 5-10 and making it easy for smaller girls to get steals or tie her up.

Koval wasn't good all year. She looked timid and out of place when playing against girls who don't like her. Her foot speed is too slow; she’s essentially the white version of Rosario. We were fortunate not to face UCLA; Betts would have dominated her. Koval would have been in foul trouble the entire game. The reality is, she’s a liability, and she isn’t good— even Kim doesn’t believe she can play at the SEC level. You guys shite on black players all day, it's no fun now huh. BTW EAD!!

Maybe you should tell Kim that because she talked about Koval in a very positive way in her interview with Doucet

Koval's foot speed is not slow for a 6-5 post player. Plus, she has a strong lower body. She just needs to strengthen her hands and upper body.
She's light years better than ADR, who was almost nonexistent in two seasons and often looked lost. Koval contributed to some degree almost every game offensively and defensively last season. ADR really didn't show any improvement at Vanderbilt.
With Koval it's her upside. We haven't really seen her play up to her potential yet. But the basics are there, and she's a hard worker and will put in the time and more in the off-season. She'll be much improved and more of a polished player next season.

Lots of downvotes, but you are actually correct. Shes average.

We can go on and on about her being average but she's definitely better than some of the past bigs. And she can learn to be better. She made a big jump from freshman to sophomore. Mulkey wouldn't be recruiting her if she was a bad player. Hope Mulkey learned from that one. ADR, WOLPHENBERGGER to name a couple. MYMY wasn't terrible but she could have been better.

Seems you don't like Koval because she's white.

At least we can be sure it’s not about money

Need bigs who can make contested shots in traffic underneath. Haven't had those since Reese and Morrow. But it took Reese three tries because she always missed the first two putbacks, or they were blocked because her release point was too low. Morrow was just at least 2-3 inches shorter than everyone else. The ones we've had since just miss layups and putbacks against better competition. Shouldn't be that hard to find someone who can do that, right?

Knox was the best on the team last year at making contested shots at the rim, even though she's just 6-2.
Posted on 4/15/26 at 2:14 pm to goldenmoment
If Knox becomes a starter and plays 25-30 min, she will be our best post/rebounder. She can finish through contacts. She blocks a lot of shots. She is very athletic, has soft touch around the basket. She is very aggressive rebounder and can defend multiple positions. She will be a star player for us next season.

Knox has proven herself, and I like her toughness. I would also like to see her shoot 10-12 footers (appears to have shooting ability) rather than simply shooting right under the goal. She plays with great effort and a somewhat nasty disposition.

Knox definitely has an attitude and toughness around the paint--just what Kim loves.

Oh REALLY?!?!?!? Well, let's see. Me'Arah O'Neal average 13.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.4 spg, 1.4 bpg. What did our bigs average last season? I'll take O'Neal numbers everyday of the week 10 times on Sunday.
