Ok, I'm late to the party, but holy fricking shite...
This kid is worth a scholly, even as an obvious project. He has good instincts and the reflexes of a cat. And when he gets a grip on somebody, it's over. Period.
On several of those plays on defense, he reached clear past the NT to his left to grab the QB or ball carrier and stop them in their tracks. Incredible length and range, and looks slow because of his size but he was running down backs and QBs from 10 yards behind them, so that speed perception is deceptive- he fast, real fast.
He's worth the risk based on high ceiling alone.

His technique is terrible. He plays with no leverage at all. That kind of stuff can be taught, though. His size and athleticism are impressive, and he seems to play with good effort. Dude missed a sack and ran past the qb, then turns and catches the guy 25 yards downfield. Most lineman are watching that QB run at that point.

He is definitely raw. But that athleticism and reaction cannot be taught, only further improved. This kid has the potential to be an absolute freak at DE, and I mean that in the most flattering way.

Yeah even if you have to redshirt him you offer someone with that much upside.

:lol; at the one tackle he made with his finger tips.

6'8" Ziggy Ansah. But I say keep him at running back.

Oregon is the last visit and they’ve been recruiting him for awhile now. I think the cbs are a little premature. I wonder if Penn State drops him with Smith Vilbert committing.

I've never seen an OL make so many downfield tackles in my life.

I think we need more tight ends to accompany:
------T.K. McClendon 6-4 255 jr
Racey McMath 6-3 230 so
Jamal Pettigrew 6-7 245 jr
Thaddeus Moss 6-3 240 jr
Zach Sheffer 6-3 240 fr
And possibly:
Charles turner
Ray Parker
Dantrieze scott
And Aaron Moffit.
This guy may be the one we are looking for.
Sarc-meter needed.

It's probably a result of poor nutrition.
So you think a college program is going to be feeding them a Nigerian diet?

Is McClendon really 255lbs right now? That would be great. I thought I saw something about him being 230lbs recently, but I could be thinking of someone else. I immediately thought he'd have a tough time blocking, but +25lbs would ease that concern a bit.

I made it up. If he’s going to start, I’d imagine they’re trying to put as much weight on him as possible. I think I saw 245 on some site.
Otherwise, we are going to redshirt a JUCO jr tight end which makes zero fricking sense.
A redshirt would make him a jr in 2020 putting only shecffer behind him. What that will only do is guarantee her we are going to offer 3 more tight ends next year too.
It actually makes better sense to take sec-ready Juco s along wjth a true frosh in the same year. But ziperrer didn’t work out.
ETA. Does anyone see the issue wjth offering too many tight ends and having so many on the roster that it creates depth problems on the OL AND DL. ?
I bang this drum often, but I’m obviously wrong.

Yeah, I'm very disgruntled with our OT and DE recruiting...people try to shite on me here all the time for voicing my concerns about those things, but I end up shitting on them due to their terrible arguments as to why we shouldn't worry about those things.
And I look forward to not taking 2-3 marginal TE's every year...I see no point at all. I want 1 good one every cycle.
I just hope we sign Parker and start him off at developing for OT right from the start. And we need to sign at least 3 pure OT prospects in 2020.

This.
We were supposed to be running two tight end sets this year but only had one healthy and capable Tight end out of 6.
If that is the case, then scrap two Te and allot more talent to heavily rotating positions like DT and DE.
