UNC lock (supposedly). My cousin goes to UNC, (playing baseball and I couldn't be more proud of him!) He's saying UNC.. but could be wishful thinking on his part. Let's go all out and get this grown man!!

Edit. Please don't shoot the messenger. Just passing along info from my cousin. Hopefully he's wrong ha.

I've spent time in Nigeria, and I can tell you one thing to beware of. Nigerians are usually far weaker than you'd think by looking at them. It's probably a result of poor nutrition.

One of the guys I was with was a wirey Texan, about 5-10 160 pounds. He put $20 on a bar and said he'd give it to anyone who could beat him in arm wrestling. They were getting guys from the neighborhood to come in and try him. He never came close to losing, and he arm wrestled some guys who - had they been Americans - would have destroyed him.

There is a good chance two of these never play a meaningful down of football.

Dudes from the neighborhood. I am sure Asaboro comes from a rich family.

I know the competition is laughable, but Asaboro’s HS highlights are reminiscent of Jadeveon Clowney’s display of speed, power and athleticism in HS.

It’s a support role so it’s hard to gauge but hear positive remarks.

Surprised people aren't talking about this more.

I'd be fine with just closing out the last 4-6 spots with just TE's.

Can never have too many.

That's true in Nigeria. This guy is 280 pounds, I doubt nutrition is a problem. Coach O recruited Prince Tega Wanogho. Now the starting LT at Auburn. Also from Nigeria.

That's more technique and leverage.

I’m confused, did something change with him in the last few hours? This is literally on his profile page that was linked and the report was earlier today:

quote:

Matthews (NC) Covenant Day School four-star defensive tackle Wisdom Asaboro will decide on National Signing Day, Feb. 6 between North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Penn State and Oregon according to his coach Chris James.

He's going to UNC most likely. He set 4 officials and I'd assume we aren't one of them.

I like his motor, but it's hard to tell just how good he really is. I always look at the opposing offensive lineman and it was clear he was at least 100 pounds heavier than just about all those lineman. I definitely think he's a project because it's easy to look great when you're playing inferior competition. I would like to see some film on him at some of the elite camps!
