The link below contains every recruit signed by Les Miles' staff and what has transpired during their time at LSU (some of it in progress obviously). Many on this board have discussed/debated the attrition that the program has undergone during the Miles tenure. This is my attempt to put all of the data in one location so we can track our recruiting/coaching efforts moving forward in a user friendly way. Feel free to weigh in on my comments, and let me know if something looks incorrect.

BTW - My subjective criteria for what a 'Major Contributor' is as follows:

Multi-year contributors/starters
Leaders
All Conference Level (although I didn't research to see who was or wasn't)
Big Play Makers

I added 2004 for the sake of comparison. Wow!

Phil Loadholt OL 3 3 3 Out Transfer to Oklahoma. In the NFL now. N/A

I don't think you should count him.

He didn't meet the requirement to play in the SEC so he transferred to OU (Same with 1 player in this year who transferred to Nebraska)

SEC should change the rule (whatever it is). It's not fair for the SEC schools. P. Loadholt was a good player at OU and is starting for Minnesota. Have to give Les credit for this but the SEC rules sucked.

Very nice work. Much easier to keep track of where these guys end up.

Not trying to cast judgement or blame in any direction. I just think it helps to understand how we have become thin in some areas and SO young. There is lots of grey in the 2005-2007 yrs.

It also shows how many solid guys were lower tier recruits.

Thx for commenting.

I changed it to just 'Oklahoma'.

OBUDan has a post somewhere on here that compares our attrition to UF. I think basically we had less overall attrition but we really got hit at qb and the ol more than UF. Confirms what I suspected and why I believe we win the west this year.

Good question. Not sure. Maybe some others on the board can weigh in.

I pulled the entire 'class' from Rivals and Scout. Regardless of the reason, he isn't here. We used resources and reserved a spot for a guy who never touched the field.

Great job imo. Look at the Les Miles first and second year and you will see why we have been down. Now the couple of years have been real strong and will bring LSU back!

Good job Pasty!!!.....If we keep these most of these players from the 08,09,10 years, we should finally have some depth. Not to mention what the 2011 class is supposed to bring. However, if we keep losing good players(tranfers and grades), it will spell major trouble for this program.

Nice work. Good to see less attrition with the '08 class, hope that continues.

I wonder if the staff changed tactics at all in '08 on who they took, or if its mostly luck?

bignasty69 commented that the '09 class is really tight. Hopefully that will keep them around.

Great work. Thanks for creating it. Makes it easy to follow players and who pans out and who doesn't, for whatever reason.

Great point! Obviously, recruiting in his first year or two after Saban left was a little difficult. Many recruits, like a lot of Tiger fans, were unsure of Miles and feared that LSU would fall off post-Saban. It took at least two great seasons, and winning the NC in 2007, for Miles to prove that the program is still strong and an SEC/NC contender. That's what gets the top recruits to seriously consider playing for LSU.

The fact that Miles can recruit so well after two very disappointing seasons shows how great a recruiter he is and that a lot of great recruits are not as negative about LSU's future under Miles as a lot of our own fans are.

Maybe they understand that LSU's problems the last two years revolve around the quarterback issues and are confident that, once that is sorted out, LSU will be right back in the SEC/NC hunt.
