On3 just updated his ranking and have him as the #14 overall prospect in the country. Rivals is the only other service that has him ranked and they have him as the #102 overall prospect and #6 DL.

Louisiana DL Dominick McKinley debuts in 5-star range for On3

quote:

If the final rankings were released now, 2024 Acadiana (La.) defensive lineman Dominick McKinley would be a five-star prospect. McKinley debuts in the updated 2024 On300 as the No. 14 overall prospect in the country.

McKinley ranks as the No. 3 overall defensive lineman in America and the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana. His dominant season and measurables impressed On3 director of scouting Charles Power and the entire team.

“Dominick McKinley made the biggest debut of any prospect in the On300,” Power said. “One of the biggest drivers for that was watching his junior film. I think we were very impressed with his activity level, made a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. We thought he was a very strong run defender. Just getting verified measurements on him.”

He checked in with over 34-inch arms on multiple visits to go along with his 6-5, 280-pound frame, his length is impressive. He’s still scratching the surface of his potential though.

“When you combine the physical tools and how he employs them on the field already as a junior,” Power said, “he was one that we were really excited about and he’s just very projectable relative to his upside and the physical tools he has.”

John Ehret CB Wardell Mack also made a massive jump in the On3 ranking up to #26 in the country which would make him a 5 star if their rankings were made final today

People were worried about the 2024 class being weak, especially in Louisiana. Now that these kids are being seen, they’re making the inevitable rise.

Want to see a coach get turned on quick, fast and in a hurry? Let that coach lose an in-state 5* DT after not landing a single one the class before.

We didn’t sign any DTs out of HS last year, so we really need to land this guy.

Texas ATM pays well, but I don't think he would choose them over us.

It will improve but it's still down at this point. This update moreso raises questions around our takes. 8 commits this early with only 1 in the top 300 isn't exactly encouraging. Gonna be some processing or our staff sees things others don't.

Texted back and forth with his Dad and told him, no Bama signing, he laughed and said for sure no Bama, kid is LSU lean right now, they just need to stay on him, born and raised in Lafayette

We have 5 in the top 300 according to both composite scores that matter

lead for all 5 LA kids in the top 300 right now and LA will probably end up with 8-10 in there

Whether someone graduates is 99.9% based upon how much effort they put into it, not on how many prior football players graduated.

Captain Crown has mojo, he does not make claims but sure gives us a lot to digest.

Who can know the dynamics and variables, absolutely?

Those who speculate, at least try!!!
