LSU wants an official during the season but his team seems to want to take them during the summer. This is a not a freak out post

Dude is an absolute must get, we need DTs in the worst way especially if Smith and Wingo both depart after this season

LSU offered McKinley on Jan 27, 2023; Houston was his first offer on Apr 26, 2022

6'7" 270, 4.75 forty-yd dash, and incredible quickness from a DL

CC, out of curiosity, how do Maason and Dominick compare as recruits? Almost seems like McKinley could play SDE...

Those 4 are going to throw big bags of cash his way. We better be ready to play hardball.

LSU isn’t going to low ball a five star from its own state

We didn't get into a bidding war for Derek Williams and Jacoby Mathews by all accounts. However, a 5* DT from Lafayette is about as big of a priority as it gets.

If we lose this guy, it’ll simply mean that we can’t keep up. Folks can try and sugarcoat it all they want, but that’s real. The teams that compete year in and year out, always have the trenches sewn up. You either want to gain and sustain success or you want to give the appearance that you want to sustain it.

Or, it could mean the kid just wants to play elsewhere. Regardless it would be spun about a million different ways. It may be surprising to some but most kids don't choose the highest bidder. That's purely fans going with the easiest excuse why their school lost out.

Then how did we ever get Maason to come play here ? Take your chicken little bullshite back to the rant.
If McKinley doesn't come here, it wont be due to LSU coming up short on any measurable benefit.

Well, It was the last staff that got Maason to come here(ie he was always coming here) and give it a rest. Knock it off with the name calling and tough talk on a message board, because you hear something you disagree with.

Wow, If BK doesn't snag him he will not be able to keep up!!! More doomsday news at 10.

We will just spend a bag for Best DT in transfer portal. Problem Solved!

I didn't name call, I referred to a behavior.
The flip side to a player who was always going to come Herr is that there are sometimes players from Louisiana that just want to go somewhere else for school, for any number of reasons.
If, and it's a big if, McKinley doesnt come here, it's because he was never coming here no matter who the coach was or what the inducements were.

This isn’t sustainable. We got depth pieces out of the portal. No plug and play starter. We were able to do it, because we already had our bookend DT’s in Maason and Wingo.

We signed no DT’s out of highschool. If you’re ever going to drop a bag, a 5* DT from the state is as big of a “must get” as we can possibly have right now. It’s not like losing a WR or DB. In the years that the state actually produces 5* recruit in the trenches, we can’t afford to let him go elsewhere, period. That’s if we want to consistently compete for titles anyhow.
