Do you expect him to be in this years WR class? Expected to be and LSU & Alabama battle.

quote:
Tall, long-framed receiver. Has long arms and big hands. Relatively lean, but has the frame to add weight at the next level. Posted a breakout junior season on the gridiron. Showcased a well-rounded skill set. Has high end ability to locate and track the ball downfield. Comes down with contested catches in-air and uses his ball skills and coordination to come down with acrobatic grabs in traffic. Runs well with the ability to separate within the route with quickness and change of direction. Shows the ability to open up his stride once in the open field and can pull away from defensive backs for long gains. Dangerous after the catch and in the quick game in addition to his possession skills. Doubles as a talented basketball prospect who owns offers on the hardwood. Shows his athleticism as a springy, bouncy above-the-rim dunker. Will need to continue adding strength and technical nuance to his game. Projects as an impact playmaker and multi-year starter at the Power Five level with the upside to become an early round NFL Draft pick.

quote:
"Brian Thomas' junior tape really jumps off the screen," 247Sports recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks said. "When you combine that with his frame and his terrific athletic profile as a D-I basketball prospect as well, you have an outstanding wideout prospect with a high ceiling moving forward. Again, his junior tape really caught my attention, and it did so with the rankings council as well."
247Sports now ranks the 6-4, 185-pound receiver as the No. 43 overall prospect in the country, No. 2 wide receiver in America and No. 3 overall prospect in Louisiana. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks Thomas as the No. 64 overall prospect, No. 9 wide receiver nationally and No. 3 overall prospect in Louisiana.

Nobody really knows right now, I'd say he will be tougher to get than Hilton, but it does seem like an LSU-Bama battle. I wonder if we can sell him on Bama not using big WRs any more
I'm selling him as a replacement for Terrace Marshall and telling him to pay attention to him this season. That's Brian Thomas Jr. right there for us.

looks like a player but so do Deion Smith and Chris Hilton etc
it's cliche but you really cant sign them all and LSU is seldom hurting at WR
in this offense, we will keep getting them. The two guys mentioned above are Top 10 WRs and there are other studs on the radar
bottomline for me is it's just not a position group I worry about. I worry more about landing QBs that can get him the ball, and OLs that can protect the QB long enough to get him the ball

The locals claim he's all Bama

He’s really close with Jalen Cook (basketball Commit @LSU). He hasn’t played long. If he wants to play Basketball that may get us over the edge because Nate Oats can give him as much bullshite as he wants but the results will show: we’ll be deep in March Madness and At BEST BAMA will be out in the first round. It would be great to have Someone like maybe Sage Ryan recruiting Boot Boys and other kids from the South. We already have Raesjon Davis recruiting for us.

I’m not sure where he stands in the LSU pecking order
I know Hilton has a spot
I think bama did offer him before LSU If that means anything
Cook should at least help

My nephew was on his team this past year and he says he has an LSU and Alabama lanyard. I think that is what they are called.
My nephew threw a few TD passes to him (not QB) he says Bama Lsu. So nobody knows where he will go. I do know Saban has spent a few hours at Walker.

Walker is the type of place that becomes a Walmart bama fan haven. I wouldn't put stock into what the locals say.

When all is said and done, he will be a tiger.

If you read the 2 summaries about him you would swear he had a great year. He didn’t even make first or second team all state.

Shea said that Faulk and Joseph are on him and it’s paying off. I mean can you think of a more perfect person to recruit a talented in state player that is strongly considering an out of state school, than Kevin Faulk?

75 catches for 1272 and 17 TDs in 5a. Yeah he sucked.

No offense to the kid but he won’t be a good sec basketball player. Can’t imagine he’s going to try to play basketball in college
Will be a monster WR though

I know that Saban and Golding have been to walker several times to visit him, but those visits were before we beat them last season. Our staff is on he and Hilton a ton. From what I’ve heard, this kid is close to his family so that may work in our favor. Thomas is only playing football in college. 6’4 skinny post players aren’t too successful in the SEC. Ask Michael Clayton.

Never say what another man can't do. Wasn't the same said about Big Baby? Or that Russell Shepard would never make the NFL. You are not the determinant of another's success.

I didn’t say he sucked. I’ve seen the kid play so I know what he can do. I’m just surprised that he didn’t make first or second team all state.

Lol ok
Dude can make it to the nfl. Not the nba. Everyone with a brain knows that

I talked to a Walker player recently (friends kid, starting O-lineman). He said that Coach O visited WHS twice but didn't talk directly to Brian. And Saban visited the school twice and talked to Brian both times. That's why Brian is high on Bama right now.
But he is best friends with Jalen Cook, so that will help LSU.
Walker is an LSU town, just like Denham Springs.
The Thomas family is a big family and very close. I grew up with a lot of them. I know that they would ultimately want him to stay close.
I go to a lot of Walker football and basketball games. Trust me, Brian is a stud WR. Legit 6'4", 195 lb, 4.4 speed. Has been unstoppable the last 2 years against really good competition.
I really hope he's a Tiger. We'll have to see how this WR class shakes out.

I will say it was different for Big Baby because he was actually a top 15 Bball player in the country and was 6'8. I do think Brian Thomas can play SEC Basketball but I think his pro prospects are much better on the football field. I actually believe the same is true for Jalen Cook but some guys just love hooping too much to give it up.
