4-star QB Gerry Bohanon expects big push from LSU

“I loved it. The atmosphere was crazy,” Bohanon raved. “They had me fired up. I wanted to go out there and play, especially after that punt return, which turned the whole game and everything around. It was shocking, man. I didn’t want to leave. Watching that, wow. I haven’t been watching all of their games that much, but the way they were playing game, bouncing back like that left a mark on me.”
Bohanon, among the most highly sought-after dual-threat quarterbacks in the class, has been to several college campuses in recent months. Most recently, he’s visited Louisville and Baylor, but has also made stops to Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia and Mississippi State, among others.
How does LSU’s Death Valley compare to the rest?
“To be honest, that’s the loudest one I’ve ever been in,” he said. “I couldn’t hear myself think, especially in the big situations at the end. I couldn’t hear anything it was so loud. I can see why they call it Death Valley.”
quote:
“Man, I really enjoyed it,” Bohanon said of his first visit to Baton Rouge. “I was glad to make it, to see how they coached and see how the team played. Some of the things they run, I can see how it would benefit me. They have a lot of passing plays where they run deep routes, post routes, the stuff that I excel at and some of my favorite route combinations like the fades, vertical post routes, crossing routes, the stuff that I’m very comfortable with.”
However, in light of Bohanon’s recent recruiting decision, consider LSU a team very much in play. The coaching staff will have to continue to increase contact with the quarterback target, but the Tigers are a team with a lot of momentum in this pursuit.
“It all depends on how far we go,” Bohanon explained. “I’m glad I made it there and it makes them a contender. If they pick up [communication], you never know how far it can go. We’ll have to communicate better, work on our relationship to know that I’d be good with them for four years of my life and they trust my talent in their hands.
How many fans were there in the 4th? 85-90k? Less? Loved being part of that crowd it was electric. We made up for those who left at halftime.

I don't think we had 85. I would have guessed about 75.

Recruiting needed a kick in the pants in the worst way. This win was so incredibly important.

So is this depending on what Rogers ends up doing? Because they sure in the hell ain't signing Rogers and Bohanon

LSU is great at bringing in Irish athletes to our sports programs. Shaquille O'Neal is the best example of this!

First off, TCU isn't even on his list on 247. Second, even if he was considering TCU, Shawn Robinson is going to start there the next two years at least. Third, give me Bohanon way before Rogers

We've had great luck with these Irish kids in round ball too.

Justin McMillan did a snap

I watched one of his games. His deep ball is one of the best I’ve seen at the HS level. Always hits guys in stride.
Only knock on him is he’s not a run to buy time to throw guy. Once he tucks it in.....he gone.

That can be coached out of him.

I remember seeing him on the sidelines in a group photo with other recruits. I honestly thought he was a former player or JUCO b/c he looked more mature/older than the typical visitor. Would be nice to see LSU bring him in.

Lolwut?
There weren't more than 70k there at the most at any point in the game. Granted, it got loud late in the game, but it was FAR from 85-90k.

"I'd be good with them for 4 years of my life". Sounds like someone who thinks before he speaks. I like that mindset, especially for a QB.

excellent.
He's a favorite of mine.
No Dak comparisons.
His agility for that size is borderline freakish. It will be freakish with more work... which he is not afraid of.
The level of competition is worth noting, it's not great. But he's a TD machine with most of the tools, damn sure body.
I honestly am not sure who our biggest competition would be. One would think UT and Piggies, but that does not appear to be the case. Baylor? OM? Louisville?
