If we whiff into Murphy - we have to flip Washington (not going to happen) or try to go all in on Perkins (who nobody from 24/7 or TOS think we are going to get at the moment) if all we end up with is Tolan and maybe some out of nowhere 3* to fill a spot that's not cutting it for $500k salary. Maybe I'm harsh.

Or they hold that spot and pray for a grad transfer and maybe you do get lucky and get another Mike Jones but that's a huge gamble and one you shouldn't see from a guy making $500k. We were all told Baker was a fantastic recruiter and had Florida "connections" and Texas connections.


I'm not a complacent fan like a lot of other tiger fans that just mindfully say "well maybe next year" "2023 is going to be so awesome"

I want our program to be consistently good like Clemson, Bama and OSU that includes the recuiting trail.

So outside of Murphy and Perkins there haven't been other names mentioned which tells me we are going all in like we did with Leigh last year.

Magician - I think you may be confusing ‘complacent’ with ‘unrealistic expectations’.

Baker has only been a part of the LSU staff for a few months, and he has already delivered a top-200, 4* LB from the Sunshine State (DeMario Tolan). Furthermore, he’s got us in the mix for three (3) other top-150 LBs (Perkins, Murphy & Washington).

It’s worth noting that Baker’s lone recruiting win (Tolan) is more than Daronte Jones and Andre Carter, combined.

Outside of recruiting, we will have to wait and see how he does developing guys currently on the roster.

Yea lol i'm not bitching about it. Just saying that "making progress" with a kid doesn't really mean anything in terms of whether a guy is a good recruiter. I'm pretty confident in Baker's recruiting ability, personally, but the fact that he's "made progress" with a kid who is still relatively unlikely to sign with us doesn't matter much.
