I would take Surtain Jr, Chase, and a pick from Washingtom/Beal/Goodrich. They can get 2 QB's in next years class I think and pass on Foster, but it's down to those last 3 I would say.

I think we can still swing Goodrich if we plan the visit right and blow him away. Dabo and crew could also but that's the beauty.
I've got mixed feelings on the last spot. Don't want Beal unless the plan from jump is OT. Add his frame and ability to move with Wires and that's quite a duo for the new OL coach to mold into studs. I'll take that. No TE
Washington would be fine but not sexy. I thought he could be a contributor earlier so no reason to not think so now.
If we don't have a surprise guy to press under wraps then my preference is to hold the scholarship as long as needed. Scour the country looking for a CB whether a late blooming hs kid, juco kid or transfer that the staff thinks can help and get him. If no one emerges, hold it until 19.

Hopefully a qb. I know Brennan and narcisse Ard looked at favorably but with the where cfb is at whose to say one doesn’t transfer when they don’t win the job. Need to sign one every year.

No way you move Beal to the OL, kid is too athletic for his size. He'll make a natural pass catching TE, and I think he can be an excellent blocker at TE also. He just has that prototypical NFL TE size that he'll be highly sought after if LSU intends on employing a passing offense like Ensminger is saying.

If in fact because of Goodrich and Foster signing elsewhere, it seems there are several targets this staff seems to really like. Beal TE that the staff really likes. Mike Williams the DE that Aranda and O both love. Foucha is a Swiss Army Knife kind of DB that would be a great special teamer. As would Adarius Washington. That's some special players who could possibly be signed ... I'm open to any of those.

Since the 2019 class is stacked, why not move that scholarship to next year and sign 26? Isn’t that an option if you don’t sign the full 25 per year?

Not anymore. Can’t back count it.

almost sounds silly to say, but I want ps2, chase and foster. I want foster to make myself feel better inside. another legit qb would be nice to throw in the mix. McMillan and the walk ons will never play.

Do you not remember Adarius Washington who has been committed for quite some time?

Yes they can.

On the other hand:
- I hate we had to pass on Mike Williams, I think he's going to be a really solid player and a starter. Might not lead in tackles or sacks, but he'll be that guy that shows up every game and play.
- I'd hate to not give an open slot to Washington. Good player and part of me says he's 'earned it' if available. The PR/marketing value of such a move MIGHT outweigh the logic above.
- We haven't backed off Foster, just for these reasons from what I understand. He might have backed off us because of priorities... and then again that might change if he gets that 'we have a spot after all' call. Do we take Foster over Empty/Beal/Washington? I personally don't see the great need at QB this year; but in the end that question will likely be answered by Ensminger. He'll say he's good for missing a year, or that he's concerned enough where he wants Foster in the pipeline. He's seen both Brennen and Narcisse in enough action.
If CSE was worried about both (which is not the case), there would be full-on for Foster. If he's worried about 1 of the 2, Foster will get that call. If he's satisfied with both their progress up to now, it's anybody's guess.

With all due respect to this dude, we have a good bit of TEs already on the roster. I'd rather take Ardarius Washington over Beal.
Moreau - SR
Washington - SR
Moss - SO
Pettigrew - SO
Moffit - FR
Sheffer - FR
I kinda wish we would take a DB or QB over another TE. We can get another next year with the graduation of Washington and Moreau.

You really need to begin staggering the QBs which means there is a need for one in this class, but it may not be possible. That puts them behind in terms of QBs on the roster being developed that aren't walk-ons. That will give you 4 really good arms almost every spring. It will probably be very difficult to bring in two really good ones in any class going forward especially if you fail to get one this year.

Foster is a wildcard we can’t count on, but because of our tenuous QB outlook, we need one.

Goodrich will not be in this class.
I really think Beal is going to A&M.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Keys III

Shea did a segment on a local show in Lafayette yesterday. He said that he wouldn't be surprised if LSU didn't sign that 25th person if they indeed whiff on Goodrich and Foster. That schollie can be used for a transfer or juco guy at a later date.
