Kids like this from Louisiana you take for more than one reason.
One, we lack team depth. Two, he should not be looking to play or start right away giving him time to build himself to the 5* physique and game speed. Three, less likely to get upset and transfer.

Swing and a miss. Is the star rating perfect, no. It is accurate though. A higher percentage of 4 and 5 stars make it to the NFL than 2 and 3 stars.

Exactly this. LSU needs to lock down Louisiana, this is a step in the right direction, continue to get in-state guys and he’s a top 25 in the state, which is nothing to sniff at. There’s a reason LSU and the state of Louisiana produce immense NFL talent. I trust Jamar Cain, CBK, and the staff to evaluate. Also if I’m not mistaken, LSU jumped heavy on say an Arion Carter then Alabama and others proceeded. Folk just see stars without the context and 3-5 stars make up every major recruiting class. Anyone melting at this has no clue.

Happened last year with Danny Lewis as well.
There is no denying you need an influx of 5 and 4 stars to compete on a national level. But to win you need these 3* diamonds to be uncovered

I would think they have plans on bulking him up for DT. I'm no expert, but from watching his highlights he doesn't appear to possess SEC DE speed (That could be from the injury though).
Either way, I trust this staff with whatever they decide. I just hope they give Kyran Bourda a look if we are taking on projects and looking to bulk up someone for DT. He's already listed at 285-300lbs, plays with energy, and looks like he sheds blocks rather easily.

Know the kid well. Would be a REAL Good TE if he played in a HS system that had a TE. Runs well! Still a program kid who will get better in CBK system wherever he plays.
