I still think Ju'juan Johnson not being higher ranked as an athlete is an incredible oversight.

"Athletes" are historically under-ranked, due to difficulties projecting to different positions in college.

Coaches don't just recruit their position. That's why they are area recruiters.

That's the 2023 Ranking. February Signing Day for Class Rankings.

2024 is the current class for current recruiting cycle and sits at #10.

I've seen a number of defensive recruits mention Brad Davis, Sloan and of course Frank as being heavily involved with their recruitment.

I kind of see at as more of an "all hands on deck" approach than anything else.

No there’s a 247 composite and just 247 rankings.

Composite - 10
247 - 6

I'm a firm believer in recruiting rankings - in general. They are a proven, yet very flawed indicator.

Where I have a problem is the implied precision. I don't believe there is an actual way to differentiate between the No. 6 and No. 10 class. There are too many variables.

I generally look at it in blocks. Usually there are 1-3 classes that are better than the rest. Then 4-10 are generally equal and then 11-20, etc.

And even the difference between the blocks can be very slim, due to meeting needs, positions, etc. We see schools have inflated rankings by oversigning QBs, or deflated rankings by signing kickers and punters.

And even after signing, there is attrition, development, etc.

Obviously you want to be ranked as high as you can, but to pretend it's anywhere close to an exact science is foolishness.

In the only game I've seen McKinley in, the center for JuJuann Johnsons team dominated him all night. He was a smaller kid with no p-5 offers.

Would love to see us poach Charleston Collins and Reliford in addition to landing Jackson. That would have everyone feeling extremely good about addressing needs - a building block class for the defense. As people have said, the back 7 is a real bright spot for this class.
