Coach O was at Walker High School today visiting with Brian Thomas Jr. I was starting to wonder if Coach O had thrown the towel in on him since Saban was on campus to see him after the regular season and both Bama and Georgia had coaches at Walker basketball games to watch him. I have been hearing whispers that his dad is infatuated with Saban and Bama so I guess we'll see on him. The kid is a freak athlete that I hope joins his buddy Jalen Cook in P & G.

It sounds like the general thought is he will likely go to Alabama. But you can't discount what LSU did on offense this year. LSU's WR's were every bit as productive as Bama's group. If not more. Now, O has to show they can continue to have similar success in the passing game without Brady and Burrow. But no longer can opposing coaches definitively say LSU is a graveyard for great WR's and QB's.

There’s ages till he’s gonna commit though. Agiye Hall is a pretty similar player. Maybe we get him but If BAMA or Clemson get him then we really should turn the heat up on Brian. He’s like 6-4.

You could argue that we don’t produce great QBS. But I don’t know how to argue that we don’t produce receivers we’ve developed Jarvis Landry, OBJ, DJ Chark, Foster Moreau, Justin Jefferson, Thad Moss and next year Ja Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall Jr who will be top 15 picks.

I feel like he's going to take it right down to the wire. As a Walker guy, it would be unfortunate to see him to go Bama. All of the D1 talent we've produced (it hasn't been much) in the last 20 years or so has gone to LSU. To name a few - Lionel Turner, Chris Hawkins, Cody Reine, Toddrick Stevenson (signed LOI with LSU but ended up at Southern due to personal reasons) and Jalen Cook

Fwiw, I talked to his uncle a few weeks ago and asked him about the Bama rumors. He said he’s really a mama’s boy and that he and Jalen are really close. He thinks he ends up at LSU.....but a lot can happen between now and then. But yes it would sting to lose a Walker boy to Bama

Coach O was busy winning a National Championship. If this kid cannot see the love and adulation being given to players locally, he's too dumb to play here.

"starting to wonder if Coach O had thrown the towel in on him since Saban was on campus"

So you wonder if Coach O stops recruiting a player once Saban comes into the picture? Are you insane?

Bama has 14 wide receivers on scholly on their roster, why would he go to bama and have Aton of competition to compete for little playing time. LSU has least roster of wide receiver a and as u mention LSU had a ton of success on offense this season.

We have 10 actually. Waddle, Smith, and Shavers are probably gone after next season. That’s 3 out of our 4 top receivers that will be leaving.

Is this hyperbole?
Would any LSU coach give up on a La top ten talent?

No not at all what I’m saying. I didn’t know if it was a personality thing or a work ethic thing or something along those lines. I just really thought Coach O would have gone by there before now. Regardless, I’m happy he came today and hope the good guys win out. Coach O has quite the recruiting pitch now.

That’s for sure....certainly not trying to be some “insider”. Definitely wouldn’t go to Vegas and place any bets after that conversation. Just glad to see Coach O putting in the work and that maybe he isn’t this “Bama lock” as I’ve read on here before. Geaux Tigers!

I wasn't taking a shot at you BTW. This board is exactly for this type of stuff. You got some info and shared it. Others can chose to do what they want with that information.

Just saying that uncles are taking the forefront on this board!

He is a really good Basketball player as well. Any chance he plays BB as well? If so Wade could be an influence.
