So here is what I've thrown together just for fun. I added the eight uncommitted players minus Moko which brought LSU to 30 commits and then I subtracted five to get to 25, and I kept Todd at punter. 12 on offense, 12 on defense, and 1 special teamer. Obviously it's unrealistic and uneven at certain position but with only 25 spots you have to be selective.

Offense, I went heavy at the WR position which is overkill but I really like all of LSU's commits and adding BTJ was too good to pass up. Also added three OL to get to four total and kept Shead at TE. Really wish LSU would've gotten Van Pran at center in 2020.

Defensively, I focused primarily on the nickel defense so I went with only two LB's and Smith as the only DT since LSU took three of each in 2020 class (Webb, Sampah, White and Roy, Guillory, Taylor). DE is the biggest need right now so I took four and added five DB's.

Committed (25):
QB: Garrett Nussmeier
RB: Corey Kiner
WR: Deion Smith, JoJo Earle, Chris Hilton, Jack Bech, Brian Thomas Jr.
TE: Jalen Shead
OL: Garrett Dellinger, Tristan Leigh, Savion Byrd, Kimo Makaneole
DL: Landon Jackson, Saivion Jones, Keanu Koht, Maason Smith, Korey Foreman
LB: Raesjon Davis, Greg Penn III
CB: Nathaniel Wiggins, Damarius McGhee
S: Sage Ryan, Derrick Davis Jr., Jardin Gilbert
P: Peyton Todd

Again, this is completely unrealistic but I thought it'd be fun to share. I know people are going to say not enough LB/DT but you can't have a perfect 2 DE 2 DT 3 LB 4 DB class without dropping players and based on the current roster, I like this group although there could be some shuffling. Don't necessarily need five WR and honestly four DE's might be one too many but overall I like this group.

I think we will keep Naquan Brown based on when they took his commitment. They are clearly loading up on athletic and versatile edge players. We also need LBs.

I think the staff also likes Hundley, I doubt Mason is the only interior DL take. Perhaps Foreman would take Hundley’s scholly if he chose LSU, based on the numbers.

I think they’d rather use the 4th OL scholarship on a grad transfer, instead of an interior project like Kimo.

Basically, I think you are pretty close on your positional group numbers except I just don’t see how we justify 5 WRs in this class, we have greater needs on Defense and OLine. I personally don’t think the staff would’ve taken Bech’s commitment unless they were moving on from BTJ who seems to be Bama. We will see how it plays out.

I agree all signs point to Gee being out or moving to LB (I don’t see this, I think he’s out), and I do think either Naquan or Carter sticks but not both. I sense it’s the former.

It sure would be nice to grey shirt the punter and save that precious spot. Obviously, we will have plenty of openings for future scholarships for him to take pretty quickly like we did with Avery Adkins.

The coaches probably realized rantards wanted Gilbert and are gonna process Langlois, who they offered over Gilbert in October, to please you.

Not sure if I’m remembering correctly, but wasn’t Shead talked up as an eventual OL when he committed? Shead could grow into an athletic OT and Bech grows into TE. It doesn’t change total number in class right now, but could be a factor in how the class finishes

Posted this on TOS. It is my dream finish.

1 QB: Nussmeier
2 RB: Goodwin
3 WR: JoJo
4 WR: Deion
5 WR: Hilton
6 TE: Bech
7 OL: Dellinger
8 OL: Leigh
9 OL: Makaneole
10 OL: Another OL
11 DL: Landon
12 DL: Koht
13 DL: Saivion
14 DL: Foreman
15 DL: Maason
16 LB: Raesjon
17 LB: Wallace
18 LB: Penn
19 S: Sage
20 S: DDJ
21 S: Langlois
22 CB: Wiggins
23 CB: Demarius
24 P: Todd
25 Transfer: OL/LB

I will take Goodwin over Kiner at this point. To me, if we want to follow the Saint's scheme, we need a shifty, pass catching RB. Goodwin fits that much better than Kiner. I love Kiner but I don't know where he fits in the offense we are supposedly wanting to run. Especially with so few spots left.

Those 4 pass catchers should be enough In the new game were TE and WR blead into each other. I think we will be young at that position but some of the freshmen will be able to contribute.

OL is obvious. We desperately need bodies who can contribute there. Less than 4 scares me.

DL is concise and fits our scheme. No projects there, just players.

I am a little scared at taking only Penn. Is he athletic enough or another Sampah who wont contribute in the passing defense which is as much, if not more, important in todays game. Wallace gives us a serious athlete to recreate our White, Queen, Debo mold

S looks good with an in the box, nickle, and cover guy

Both Cbs are players and will do well.

I say we save a transfer for OL or ILB. If we want next years team to be any good we will need players to step up or adress those positions immediately.

Let's not forget the Va connection with N.Brown. This is why i really don't like these discussions. Let it all play out and geaux from there. The 22 current commitments are all skilled players that have a role with the LSU football program.

I think it would be both rbs

I cant see them dropping kiner.
Faulk loves him.
It would be a tough cut

If they take 2 rbs it really mean they dont fully believe in Emery

Tdp is what he is. A very solid back
Emery will flash
Curry is a deep backup
Bradford I feel will be really good

If someone transfers you are short.
I could see them taking 2 backs for sure.

The class you posted is stacked
That is a class you build a championship off of.
I feel like the last class was good and this class is great

If I am honest, I don't see how there is any way that we drop Kiner. Highly doubt that happens. I just would prefer Goodwin over Kiner. To me, Kiner's ceiling looks to be about what TDP is doing right now. I just wish Faulk would pursue more of the pass-catching, shifty type backs. I know the prototypical NFL RB was much different when he played but, if we want to run the saints offense, we need a RB who is a serious threat in the passing game.

I’m not saying anyone else doesn’t end up in this class. I just listed the guys that I see for sure being in the class.

I’ll be happy if any of the guys on the list land with us. But I think the rest are purely going to come down to numbers. We gotta make room for who ever the coaches really want.

solid class if not spectacular - this class would be a cornerstone to build upon for championships.
