They bend rules and find every loophole possible. They’ll take scholarship kids and greyshirt them for a year to make numbers work.

Something no other program has been able to constantly talk players into doing. I get that it’s Bama and I could understand getting the occasional recruit to agree to this, but this happens EVERY YEAR, and with 4 and 5 star players. There is absolutely something fishy going on that would be looked into if it was happening at any other program.

So happy for Bama! What's that, their 32nd commit?

Can't beat em, join em

And other teams need to copy what they're doing to circumvent the 25 every year.

Just completely embarrassing offensive line recruiting this cycle.

There are probably 20 or more coaches who would have won as many or more Championships as him, with his rosters over the years.

Easily true his weakness is game day coaching .

This also shows you the problem with Cregg. Your OL wins the Joe Moore award. You have 3 OL get drafted in the top 4 rounds, you're coming off a national championship, yet all you can pull in is one 4 star OL recruit?

The rosters he built? You understand that’s part of being a coach, right?

Alabama plays by different rules. They sign who they want in the numbers they want, knowing the NCAA will do nothing about it.

I wonder what color Jaeden got!

I also wonder what previous 4* player that didn't quite pan out will now be without a scholarship.

Totally agree. His record in the NFL makes it clear that when he doesn’t have a far superior roster, or the threat of benching kids, thus ruining their potential livelihood, that he is in reality, a slightly above average coach.

i can’t think of one college coach who tested the coaching waters in the nfl and succeeded long term

spin it the other way and tell me then why nfl coaches don’t succeed in the college ranks? they’re supposedly the best coaches but still have trouble winning it all in the FBS

best opportunity to win championships is getting the best players and that’s it

everyone saying he’s not that great of a game day coach is just grasping for straws...i hear that about every coach

No surprise here but geez they just keep stacking O-line men and we can't even get more than 1.

By the timeline he signed on ESD, Dec 16, and just announced today because he is signed not committed.

So Wheaton is commit 26.

I guess Wheaten will have to decommit. No room for him. They can’t sign more than 25 per class under this new rule.

It’s a completely different skill set.

It’s 2 different games. Period. The NFL is designed to be a league of parity from the draft to free agency. Anyone who thinks college football is an even playing field is kidding himself. If you want to argue that Saban is the greatest recruiter ever, I won’t argue with you. How he gets those recruits is a different discussion.
But if you want to put Saban up against Bill Belichik or hell, even someone like Andy Reid or Sean Payton, based purely on X’s and 0’s, I’ll take those guys against Saban every time.

They find every loophole in the book. For example, there's a thing they do were an existing scholarship player leaves the school/program by a certain date, and then an early enrollee recruit for the next year enrolls in school as a "walk-on" for a Wintersession term (late Dec. or early Jan. for like two weeks or whatever) and doesn't actually sign an LOI, and then is granted a scholarship in the full spring semester and only counts against the 85 limit and NOT the 25 signing limit.

The Bama posters have said they can take like 27 this year...

Why would anyone go there now. I counted the roster and they have a total of 132 players including walkons which means they are at the full 85 cap limit. LSU has 95.

Hope he never sees the field and transfers out and realizes what a bag of shite he’s been sold.
