UCLA offered Brandon Sampson last night.
Coach Jones and two assistant coaches were at Brandon Sampsons game last night. So was Coach Cuonzo Martin.

Looking through the thread... Think it might be time for a new clean one. Not to mention 3-4 prospects LSU is recruiting are missing.

I also support this.
ETA: OP can copy and paste his first post into a new thread if another is started since he put in that work.

Alex Owens just announced his top 3... LSU not in it. Providence, UCF, and Missouri.

Looks as if TSD is going to have a big update on their premium board sometime before lunch.

Blakeney has cut his list to 7. FSU, Louisville, Missouri, LSU, USC, Oregon, and Kentucky. Said no particular order

I've heard him mention Louisville and Kentucky before, so I'm not surprised there. FSU has ACC appeal, close proximity and a good HC, so that's also not surprising. We have recruited him harder than anyone (by his own account), so I'd venture to say that's your top 4 in no particular order. Kentucky, Louisville, Fla St and LSU.

Little surprised to see no UNC in his top 7. His top 3 are Louisville, UK, and LSU IMO. Really hoping the opportunity to play with Simmons will play a deciding factor for Blakeney.

I agree with all of that. We also have very little depth at the guard spot, so that's gotta be enticing for him as well.

I think LSU is in a really good spot, or much better than previously thought. Lot of positives and good factors.
Obviously Simmons is the biggest, but as I mentioned in the OP, LSU and CJJ run the best system for Blakeney's skill set and style of play. FSU would not be a good fit. Hamilton is one of the best and most respected in college basketball and some have even compared him to a younger Bo Ryan, very high praise for those that actually know and understand basketball. But FSU would not be a good fit.
Blakeney would be able to fit into any system and every coach would love to have him. I think UK for some guys is not that appealing if you are a guy that wants to be a guaranteed starter Year one, and wants a lot of spotlight and minutes. Would he get a considerable amount of PT there, of course, would he even start, no one could know not even Coach Cal.
Louisville is our biggest competition and everyone else's IMO. Proximity in college basketball is quickly becoming one of the least important factors. Guys have played all over the country for years, and with basketball obviously weather and something like field conditions or stadium size have little effect.
Really hoping we can get him, would be a guaranteed Top-10 class and with say Dickerson and Sampson, Top-3 guaranteed maybe #1 overall.

The fact that this can be said this soon after Trent's departure is astonishing. A true testament to the work the CJJ is doing with recruiting.

It's still missing a couple guys and sometimes threads just needed to be freshened up. That's all.
