I want him as governor for the next Katrina level hit.

Dude stays on top of things, and the press conferences are rapid fire explosions of info.

Jindal is the best politician I've ever seen handle a natural disaster. Period.

FEMA mostly just throws support to the state.

Its up to the governor to get shite done and lead. So someone like Jindal wouldn't be useful there.

I'm not saying federal doesn't deserve some blame....but most of the buck for the Katrina response falls on Blanco's incompotent arse.

IMO - Jindal's going to get called up to the national level in the very near future.

Jindal/Landrieu in office instead of Nagin/MawMaw would have saved hundreds, if not thousands of lives in 2005.

Yes, he is doing a great job with this.

Guard was on the scene evacuating people as storm was hitting. Shelters and evacuations moving within twelve hours of storm.

Total fatalities was 1,833. Thousands is a stretch. But yes, I think he's doing much, much better than his predecessors.

his biggest strength seems to be around decisiveness. He ain't sitting around pointing fingers at ohter agencies.

He also seems to be able to quickly assimilate info adn distill it to deploy people/resources without lag time.

also seems to be a ton of advanced planning in place in ANTICIPATION of what might happen.

These are true leadership qualities that most politicians don't possess. We typically judge them on appearance adn speaking ability.
